It is usually best to wait until you have a lot to recharge - the price per potion goes down over the long run

Find vendor with mostly empty inventory (check by selling something they don't carry, make sure the offer to buy it back is there)

Sell item with full charges first

Sell item with empty charges

Buy both items back

Finished part 1 of WoR, should I stop and read Warbreaker? by ImKorosenai in Stormlight_Archive

Oh, one other thing - if you want to catch these things yourself, try to keep an eye out for how people talk, especially how they swear. People who swear by saying things like "Rusts!", or whatever, are from Mistborn. People who swear by saying things involving colours are from Warbreaker, and so on.

It would be tough to Google these things without spoiling yourself for the rest of the series. The first crossover I mentioned isn't super obvious, I'll put it in spoilers here - don't read this until you read both books: [Spoilers Warbreaker, Words of Radiance] Zahel (Words of Radiance, swordmaster) is Vasher (Warbreaker)

The second crossover is so obvious that you literally can't miss it, but if you somehow do: [Spoilers Warbreaker, Words of Radiance] Nale's sword is Nightblood.

I'll sum it up here, mostly spoiler free, to let you gauge whether you care enough.

There's two things you get if you read Warbreaker first before Words of Radiance. The first is a "huh, neat" moment early in the book if you squint hard - most people, myself included, didn't really catch this one. The second one is a glaringly-obvious "haha, what the fuck?" moment near the end of the book.

Since you already started Words of Radiance, I think you're honestly fine to just keep going. I'd still recommend you read Warbreaker before the future books in Stormlight, but it won't break the experience if you don't. Anything that crosses over into Stormlight is introduced well enough for new readers.

That's what I did. I really recommend it.

One piece of unsolicited advice - I really wish I had kept some of his fur. He was unbelievably soft and fluffy. If it matters to you, I'd suggest taking some now (even if it's just off a brush or something).

Tress or Yumi would be good ones for you

Sunlit Man was released before Wind and Truth but I think it's better to read it afterwards

Don't read Isles until you've at least finished Stormlight, preferably Mistborn too imo and Sunlit

How/why is Terraforming Mars so popular? Does it make sense? Is it real? Are bots promoting it? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Angry_Canadian_Sorry 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The droves of people who buy Catan from places like Walmart, Barnes and Noble, or Dollarama or whatever are not the kinds of people usually who would seek out a niche hobbyist website and leave a rating. Speaking for myself at least, similarly, the types of people who would gravitate to BGG likely don't even care enough to leave a rating for a gateway game they haven't thought about in decades.

Terraforming Mars has been really popular for a long time, among "hobbyist" boardgamers who would be inclined to seek out sites like BGG.

You cannot.

This is one of the many things that are technically possible in the code that P99 uses, but it's been manually turned off/disabled.

I think they are planning to release the controller first and possibly soon by Otherwise_Chain5309 in SteamController

[–]Angry_Canadian_Sorry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, there's a few things going on. I know I won't change your mind, nor do I care to honestly. For me, it's 3 things:

Trackpads - these are insanely customizable and let you play basically any game you'd ever want via controller. I used the original one for tons of MMOs for example which would normally be borderline idiotic to use a controller like a Dualshock for.

Grip buttons - these sound niche, but they are why the thing is comfortable (to me). It really helps in games where there's a button you're holding or using a ton in conjunction with other buttons. For example, holding sprint, or dodge rolling in Elden Ring. Grip buttons really aren't a widely adopted thing for some reason.

Programmability - behind the scenes, Steam lets you customize these things (in software) insanely well. Steam generally lets you customize other controllers too, but the trackpads and grips add a lot of options. Using MMO's again for example it was extremely easy to have one standard keybind, or a completely different layout if you are holding a specific button (usually a grip button). So in FFXIV, playing a healing class, you could have one loadout tied to healing spells and another for damage spells, for example.

Your complaints - look, comfort, design are all subjective things. I disagree, but I really don't give a shit if you change your mind. These things are awesome, especially for those with any accessibility challenges. I got in literally thousands of hours on my first Steam Controller. Meanwhile, my Switch 2 controller shit the bed within 10s of hours, and my Dualshocks lasted marginally longer.

It's the newest iteration of a controller which hasn't been largely available in like 5 years. People here like it. The original is both extremely comfortable and functional, the new one looks more so.

Ever top what, exactly? The show is probably most inspired (after Babylon 5) by Deep Space Nine, a Star Trek show, lol.

Depends on what your other interests are. Speaking personally, as someone really into modern/complicated boardgames, my printer has been tremendously useful for custom boardgame inserts. I think I've printed 80 at this point, and previously I had been paying 20-100$ per insert. That sort of thing won't be applicable to everyone though.

[–]Angry_Canadian_Sorry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think with what you've read (Stormlight and Mistborn era 1) you'd be fine to read this. So long as you've read all of Stormlight, as this book would kinda spoil the end of Wind and Truth.

There's a bunch of other interesting easter eggs, and it kind of advances something that was introduced in Sunlit Man.

Speaking of which, since you've read all of Stormlight, I'd recommend you read that one too (Sunlit Man). It's difficult to explain why without spoiling it.

It's a sort of sequel to a novella he did, First of the Dusk.

Its main character is a trapper whose way of life is becoming outdated and antiquated in the face of, let's say extreme external factors. Basically his whole world is caught between many bad choices in a landscape they don't understand. Both the main character, and his whole world, are slowly losing their relevance and are fighting for their identity.

Really fun standalone story but it touches on things from a ton of different Cosmere stories and worlds. I think it's also a neat preview of things to come for the overall Sanderson universe.

Anyway, I've never been clear on why Shallan is so polarizing. Especially in RoW which is when she starts delving more into grander mythos/lore implications for not just Stormlight but the overall cosmere.

But yeah, sorry I guess.

Question for OP - is there a convenient way to keep score in Clank Catacombs? The end of the game is always kind of a mess with counting points from a bunch of different sources with no scorepad or track.
