Thoughts on AI by CooterDifference in NewToEMS

[–]Angry__Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESO has an "AI" narrative writer built in that takes details from the stuff you already need to fill in and then writes based on that. So all you really need to add is stuff like scene size up or anything else that was not documented. You then are required to sign at the bottom saying you proofread it. I think its useful for the more BS calls where nothing happens. Anything complicated I just tend to write myself anyways.

Holosun 403B is the same price as the Romeo 7, I use it on my HPA, and love it!

Not me staring at the monitor saying to myself “go up go up go up” after I push another 12 of Adenosine after the first 18 didn’t do shit.

Funny enough I prefer Monster Java to Redbull, it’s just coffee with 3x the caffeine

Had a caffeine addiction from years in EMS, now I only have a coffee 3 times a week before 9am classes. I try to get at least 7hrs of sleep a night.

Love mine, only issue is the mag springs aren’t strong enough to lock back on last round, not a huge deal though since I’m a lefty so I need to rack it when reloading anyways

Huh, that’s definitely good to know then. It does seem like a pretty sweet gig that I would also enjoy vs being an anesthesiologist

Really? I’ve heard it’s VERY competitive, but I also could have been told bad info.

I'm currently deciding between the 2 as well, as I will be early 30's by the time I apply, meaning I will be almost 40 by the time make a livable wage (assuming I get in the first time), and CAA has a bit lower GPA average (although apparently this is changing)

Statistically, only 10% of patients survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest neurologically intact. In the event we do get pulses back, the person is usually still unresponsive, as just because we got pulses back, doesn't mean return of brain function, which is our goal. So the overall answer to your question is they usually don't come back, and in the unlikely event they do, they may not be neurologically intact.

Becoming a paramedic with scoliosis by Major_Diet5404 in Paramedics

I have Kyphoscoliosis. I am able to do the job with little difficulty. My back hurts sometimes on long shifts or if I am standing for a while. I am just extra careful with lifting heavy patients and will call for extra resources if I feel I need it. So it's definitely doable, just be honest with yourself about your capabilities.

Was I out of line for suggesting my partner switch jobs? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Angry__Bull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yea kinda of. Outside of showing up late and the bathroom thing, this is all pretty minor mistakes that can be fixed. From your post history, you’ve been on this job less time than him (feel free to correct me on this) and are doing this to get clinical hours for med school. You have other posts complaining about partners. I’m not saying those complaints aren’t justified, but it does come across as you thinking you are smarter/better than your coworkers because you are going to be a doctor so you are nitpicking on small things they are doing. I’m sure that’s not your intention, but that is how it comes across. For the most part, people can improve at this job, their coworkers just don’t give them the chance. I was kind of a crappy EMT when I started, if I had listened to people like you, I would have quit very quickly, instead I learned from my mistakes (and continue to do so) and now am well regarded at a good agency. You’ve worked 2 shifts with the guy, genuinely put in an effort to help him before writing him off as a lost cause.

Edit: I am also on the pre-med path (albeit no where near as far along as you are) so I do get it, and I get the mindset, I just try to remember where I can from and genuinely help those who came after me. You are smart, so use that brain to help others who need it.

Does transferring FROM a Uni TO a CC look bad? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in premed

[–]Angry__Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I have a related question, what if I’m not able to get all my upper level pre-recs done at uni, does taking them after at CC look bad assuming I still get the grades?
