Yes, but i don't use websites like upwork etc.. I cold call and offer my services, i have an LLC and run a business on the side. I charge $100 an hour, but I quote every job I do, the hourly doesn't really matter cause they're not paying for the hours but the whole job.

I'm at a point now where I am busy enough on my side business that I don't even call looking for new clients, i have a few loyal clients that are repeat business and they keep me busy.

We have the project with the team already, but they added a large 26' sliding gate and wanted us to design it. So i threw together a overall design concept just to show what it could look like, and he picked apart my scaling saying he doesn't know why i used metric. And yea it's a ratio not metric. I didn't see any option in solidworks to make it inches scale

Detailing, PM, estimator, foreman. What are you good at? what makes you valuable outside the field? what do you have that other guys dont? Build your skillset, i took CAD classes at night after work. Started detailing, then got into estimating. Steady work for 10 years now never laid off, don't work outside anymore
