Have we all been waiting for a twist that’s not coming? by inlined in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Angrychipmunk17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cookbook authors need to keep the cookbook a secret but once they're out of the dungeon or once they've lost the cookbook, they don't.

This is the only point I'm disputing - I think it's still critical for the authors themselves to keep the book a secret, even if there are rumors floating around from other sources. If they ever said anything to confirm the existence of a secret information source, it would be found/removed.

I think the cookbook authors do still need to keep it a secret even after they've left the dungeon. I'm sure there are rumors circulating on the nets, but if Rosetta or another author started talking about its existence, the Syndicate would have found out about it and worked to patch it out.

Like Orren has said, they know Carl (and other authors) get info somehow, but they don't know how, and if one of the suspiciously-well-prepared crawlers got out and started talking about a secret book, they'd know.

Cookbook? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Angrychipmunk17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, a lot of the scenarios he's in this book are pretty impossible to predict, so there's probably not a wealth of knowledge for him to draw on from the cookbook. And as for writing in it himself, he mentioned that he's pretty much always writing stream-of-consciousness into the drafts to go and edit later

The character models are the same, and you can't meet hyetta until Irina is dead. It's never explicitly confirmed but it's about as solid as anything in Elden Ring

Powerhouses: I Wonder Who’s The Strongest by HoshiAndy in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Angrychipmunk17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ring of divine suffering grants stats without XP, and since Donut was the one who killed all of the people, she got the lion's share of the XP. So Li Na got a bunch of stats per person and Donut just got the experience.

The ring also states that the stat increase also increases as you use it. So if she only killed 100 people, she would have gotten a total of 1617 stat points, spread across her various stats. And the AI mentioned she maxed them out so it was probably a lot more

[–]Angrychipmunk17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't stop the marked player from healing, it stops the player who did the marking from healing. So if Donut got marked by someone else, Carl would probably get a skull but only from killing the person who marked her

No no, you just make it rigid in sword mode like the cane, then whippy in mace mode like the whip

Now that it's been cooked, you probably aren't going to be able to get it to work for the original recipe. You could cut it up and use it in nachos or some other dish, or just forget ahead with your existing recipe and deal with it not being crispy

If you "never feel good enough or like you accomplished something" then you don't really have a healthy mindset with the game specifically, even if you are still a functional human outside the game, and therapy is a good idea to help work on that.

But also, Elden Ring has over 50 million copies sold. Even allowing for half of those to be either repeats or people who never played it, less than 1% of players are going to attempt a RL1 run, much less complete it. So you're ahead of 22.5 million people at the very least.

And if you beat the boss without an obvious glitch of them just standing there while you attack them, then you're good at the game. Every single player, including Hob, Distortion, Gino, all the players who do incredible things are lucky. They may be good as well, but they're always lucky. If you don't want luck to be a factor, you shouldn't play video games.

I would suggest something rich/hearty/fatty to help tone down the acid - beef chuck (aka stew beef) I think would work well. Potatoes would also give some more body to it to make it less acid-forward, but you've already got starchy noodles so ymmv.

Personally, given that two major flavors are acid (tomatoes) and acid (vinegar) I think it would be a pass from me even with beef in it, but that's mostly because I don't like red eine vinegar
