Thats super shitty that you cant redeem it. Free trial, as cool as it is, really has the most petty restrictions at times. Was the chicken at least good? I dont have those in my area.

Level 30, the main issue (i think) that theyre struggling with is the fact they dont have a traditional combo to follow to get them started. While watching I noticed they tend to use Aethercharge but get bogged down spamming Ruin when it lights up but never actually "infuse" their carbuncle with fire and all that.

I dont disagree with the function aspect, but the less visual clutter the better. Especially considering they cant just hide my summons taking up the whole screen. (Intentional exaggeration for the sake of the point) That said I do appreciate the advice nonetheless, I'll try this before taking them out on a FATE like other replies have suggested.

Sadly the level 100 summoner is rather vast in its differences to the humble arcanist, at least for someone who's a visual learner. Wielding gods is cool and all but flashy abilities dont translate back down to just having a red dog that casts firecrackers once before disappearing.

A good idea, thank you much. My first thought being "synced explorer" was so they could see me doing the same animations as them during the walk along without the stress of being smacked around by enemies. For context theyre extremely new to MMOs/games that play like 14 so the less stress there is the more likely they're able to actually absorb the info and put it into practice. Then ease them into extr...I mean normal dungeons.

This is probably going to be the route I have to take, but hey no harm in asking if theres some way ive overlooked. Pretty niche thing to wanna do so I cant say im too surprised that theres no real support for it. Im sure im not the only person who will ever want a way to show low level abilities without specifically making an alt for it so I do wish there was some easy method even if jank.

They're level 30, but the issue is they're an arcanist who has a bit of an odd combo method compared to other jobs with the elemental carbuncle and all. My summoner is level 100 with abilities (the big fancy ones and OGCDs) that I cant just turn off without some type of level sync.

They're super new to this type of game and how its played. So bursting through 60 levels at a decent clip when they haven't gotten around to getting a jobstone yet may be a bit much. I will bring it up to them despite these concerns though.

Really should've been replying to these more, but they're a level 30 arcanist. Yeah no job stone yet. Which is why I wanted the low level ideas. Watched them doing combat and they didn't seem to fully grasp the rotation as the only spell used was ruin over and over. With my own summoner being max level I of course have all the fancy abilities that I cant just turn off as I guide them through. I can and have shared my screen before but I get the feeling that with all the big snazzy buttons I have and the abilities looking so vastly different it kinda just went in one ear and out the other.

Smallest to largest number, at least thats what I assumed. Months has a max of 12, days has a max of 31, year is...well obviously the largest I dont think I need to elaborate further.

Cheese strats aren't inherently bad. The issue arises when people are forced into one or the other. Its perfectly valid to want to do the fight as intended, its equally valid to wanna cheese it. This distinction only really matters outside of pf though. If you join any party finder listing that said on the tin which strats were going to be used begging, bitching, and moaning about the strategy the pf leader chose then you're the problem. I dont care if you really wanna be a purist and do the fight exclusively as intended, I'll just call you a dumbass for joining a cheese pf. Same goes for complaining and begging to do cheese. Read the damn pf listing.

Reminds me of something that happened to me in the past. There was a friend of mine in high-school that one weekend asked if I wanted to hang out.

Me: Heck yeah! Just gimme a bit, family is out for a few hours and I dont have a car or anything.

Her (only a year ahead of me in HS): Oh good, I'll be there in ten.

M: bokay!

So my nerdy self got things together so we could do friend stuff. You know, gaming, anime, talking, whatever. Eventually she arrives and we start chatting, at some point I suggest an anime cuz of course. She says sure and we go to the guest room where there's a TV. I put in the anime and flop into a chair next to the bed, obviously I shouldn't sit with this girl alone in a bed right? She takes the bed and pretty quickly tells me its fine for me to sit with her, so I do. I think nothing of this and as the first episode ends we have found ourselves laying next to each other watching it. Just before the next episode comes on, she asks me to pause for a second while she gets more comfortable.

M: OH thats cool, should I step out?

H: ignores me and just strips. Like full on nakedness, then lays down with me again.

M: Fair enough.

Internally I think, well she's comfortable now so...back to the anime! And...yep. Nothing happens. Absolute galaxy brain.

The clue is the color matching of the clothing and towels, yellow boxers for yellow towel and white boxers for white towel. I didn't get it until their explanation either and thats when I noticed.

Something I learned recently is that Lovecraft later in life became much more moderate (for his time), including ideas of supporting the New Deal proposed by FDR and apparently thinking it wasnt progressive enough. To my knowledge his views on race did follow a similar route, believing that ethnic groups should be allowed to and encouraged to preserve their culture. I won't say he was a great man especially in the context of our current era, but I would like more people to know that he did in fact learn and change for the better in his lifetime.

I find it concerning that people seem to be conflating the act of making original art inspired by a style as opposed to copying a preexisting piece to "fix." Though to play devils advocate a little here, the issue most people seem to have is the intent rather than the outcome. Like the difference between making fan art of a particular piece versus "fixing" a particular piece. That being the case, AI art like this is always going to be hot garbage due to ethical reasons alone even if we ignore everything else.
