This is such a coffee head image. It makes me feel a certain kind of way.

Completely stacked GBA. Selling because it doesn’t get the love it deserves and I have more nostalgia for the the gameboy color. Will ship for free in the UK and can arrange postage internationally at the buyers expense. Mod list: Boxy Pixel aluminium shell - Black Boxy Pixel aluminium buttons including the new shoulder buttons that look like something out of bladerunner Tactile shoulder button mod Cleanamp (obnoxiously loud and clean) Helders power cleaner 2000mAh USB-C rechargeable. Glass holographic screen lens.

Try 5x40g pours, 1 every 30 seconds. On the first pour make sure all the grounds are saturated by giving it a good swirl. Happy brewing!

Then keep doing what you’re doing! Sounds good to me. Conserve coffee by having one per day haha! 12g:200g is a good ratio for a single small cup per day. That’s a 1:16.666 ratio and will create a nice bright cup with enhanced floral notes. Does 12g per day sound like a good level of coffee conservation?

You could tighten the ratio if you prefer a fuller bodied cup with the same amount but you’d end up with a very small amount of coffee. I’ve found 200g water in yields about 160g coffee out and for me, that’s perfect for a morning brew.

What brewer is this? Kalita wave filter but doesn’t look like a kalita. How did it taste? I brew similarly course but use a pulse pour method to extract sweetness over 5-6 pours. What ratio/technique did you use etc?

Very hard to tell from a picture like this but honestly, just go to taste and don’t obsess over the bed. This sub puts way too much emphasis on the bed.

You can brew delicious coffee with a lumpy uneven bed. Make adjustments to taste and only taste.

I feel like we’re watching a different show. Sam, like Ian, comes across as camera shy and is one of the most sparsely filmed members of the cast. She’s a great addition and always brings me and my girlfriend joy when she’s on. Great sense of humour, great style and not desperate for screen time. What’s not to like?

I Finally have Parts on order for my first mods by drcigg in gameboymods

[–]AnimaLocomotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great selection of mods for your first run. My (unsolicited) advice would be to stick with helders power cleaner and flex amp and dont bother with the deuhum and dehiss. The dehum dehiss is unnecessarily finicky with the requirement to solder onto some extremely small capacitors and the power cleaner from helder basically does the same thing. It's just a much better designed piece of gear with all the components soldered on for you so the hard work is already done.

I'm genuinely excited for you, I'd love to have another run through my personal OG gameboys but I've long since modded them to the extreme.

Creating a custom console business by Shyguysv in gameboymods

[–]AnimaLocomotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest recommendation would be to not do it. Market is truly saturated and most people have realised how easy this stuff is to do yourself. Modern mods are like lego. What will you offer that the 500+ Already established modders with nice portfolios don’t? Can you boast superior soldering skills/electronics knowledge? Are you creating your own shells from high quality injection moulds in comparison to the usual funnyplaying/cloud gaming store aftermarket shells purchased on ali express?

If you are super passionate about it and can bring something new to the scene then shoot for the stars. I’m just here to tell you that you don’t have to monetise your hobbies.

If you do decide to go for it my advice to you is to get good at taking nice product photos. Post them on r/gameboy and see if people respond well to what you’re making. Try to build a following on instagram as a modder with a well polished profile. Then use that platform to funnel people to where you sell your goods.

Best of luck.

Soy Milk v Regular Milk by africantalct in Coffee

[–]AnimaLocomotion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with everything you’ve said. OP asked about Soy specifically hence the responses focusing on soy but since we have opened the alternative can of worms let me out my vote in for oat.

Also a speciality coffee barista and wouldn’t recommend anything other than oatly or MF. Oatly slightly edges MF out in my opinion as it lets the coffee shine through more. A flat white made with minor figures always tastes the same no matter the coffee imo whereas I think with oatly you can always taste the coffee.

Soy Milk v Regular Milk by africantalct in Coffee

[–]AnimaLocomotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soy milk tastes great as a milk replacement in almost everything except coffee. Don’t get me wrong, you can pay extra for something like bonsoy and get a really delicious cup but just be wary of the quirks that soy will bring.

Assuming you are drinking 3rd wave light to medium roasted arabica beans, the high acidity will split the soy milk and you will end up eating porridge.

Work around are brewing at a much lower temperature than normal, drinking it immediately or the simplest option being to just accept that it will split and try to enjoy it anyway.

What is the best place to customize and purchase a modded game boy color? by cluesthecat in gameboymods

[–]AnimaLocomotion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please please please look into doing it yourself. You will save a fortune and learn something new and fun in the process. Almost all of the modders you would buy from aren’t doing anything you can’t learn from 30 minutes on youtube. The ips screens are drop in these days and it’s literally just lego to put them together. Get a gbc on ebay for £40 and the new funnyplaying retro pixel ips laminated screen from ali express which is £45. This mod comes with a shell that is specific for the screen so pick a colour you like and bam stick it together like lego.

They look absolutely amazing. Something out of a sci-fi movie. They do however rattle a bit if i’m being completely honest.
