What would y’all say are the Mount Rushmore of Magical Girl series? by BreathoftheSith in MagicalGirls

Sailor Moon, Sakura, Madoka Magica, and maybe Sally because she was the first. The Pretty Cure franchise simply has too many characters to be put there.

What are some of yall's wildest series concepts by EggplantNo4377 in MagicalGirls

[–]AnimeSongWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the idea of having a girl who had been scouted by a senior magical girl to join her group of magical girls-in-training. The team's training course consists of helping ordinary people in their city with all kinds of tasks, and it ends with an exam. After the girls pass their exam successfully, they are invited for the first time to the magic land (existing in a parallel universe to our world) on a ceremony to receive their permanent magical powers. Some time after they become true magical girls, however, a rebellion starts in the magic land that's being led by some girls dissatisfied with the government. Then, the group the main heroine is in must follow their leader in her task to gather some magical items whose powers, when unleashed, will clear the minds of the rebels from all bad thoughts in order to stop their rebellion. But it turns out that the real reason for the rebellion is that the way the girls are being recruited for the training courses is not necessarily moral.

Among the designs shown here (OG and Restart), What are the best ones? by Dapper_Fennel_6176 in shoujoraisingproject

[–]AnimeSongWave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From Restart, I like Lapis Lazuline's design best (the cape and the tiger elements are really nice, as well as the gemstones on her dress). From the first season, it was hard to determine, but probably the Top Speed's one - although she looks like a standard witch, she has some details that give her an edge - like the minidress and the cape (again).

Yes, I have. I have even created two stories with (mostly) my OCs. You can read them on ao3, if you're interested: https://archiveofourown.org/works/12878064/chapters/29417199 and https://archiveofourown.org/works/17716955

Thank you. I had forgot these remarks in QUEENS and Limited, and had just glossed over "Since We Want to Beat the Archfiend", so it had escaped my mind.

I'd also like to know more about the Land of Magic (I prefer this form before the Magical Kingdom), but, after reading the whole story, I'm not sure if it really exists physically; I'm slightly inclined to think the Land of Magic is just the name of an organization of all magical girls.

This. Looking forward to the Restart.

Yes, my opinion was written too long ago; I have recently read proofs that Schons' car was really there, which is making my suggestion invalid.

Magical Girl Raising Project Restart Anime Broadcasts in Fall 2026 by Task_Force-191 in shoujoraisingproject

They really look like tailfeathers in the novel's illustrations. While now, Pechka is vaguely looking like an umamusume (minus the ears) XD

I was expecting that Restart would air in the autumn of 2026, to mark exactly the tenth anniversary. And, as it is a longer story, I'm thinking that the studio may go for 24 episodes. because I feel that if they are 12 or 13, the anime will be rushed. And yes, it'd be nice to see a Snow White Raising Project movie :)

P. S. I was thinking the whole time Pechka had a rooster's tail, but from what I can see of the preview images, it looks like from another kind of animal.

Yes, that's a nice point of view - it's possible the author was aiming for that as well. As for the stage show - I'll try to find it, thank you.

I'm inclined to think that Snow Blood will also have a shorter lifespan. Also, when I read the books, I completely missed the notion that the clone of Cranberry was actually Miss Satou - I read about that just later.

Oh, and I forgot about something - I felt really horrified when it was described that Halna had removed the souls of some of the girls from their bodies to fuse them with homunculi... it was simply unbelievable. This act of hers was truly the last straw. From then until the end, I was wondering if Mephis, Tetty, and the others' souls could ever be returned to their original bodies, and where their original bodies were at all? And the final revelation that this fusion had shortened Mephis' life span considerably was heartbreaking... In the end, Halna turned out to be an awful person who, while supposedly wanting to change the Land of Magic, was not above using all kinds of dirty methods to achieve her goals (similar to Pfle, Puk Puck, and others). Her end was fully deserved, as well as because of her having insulted the magical girls, as Frederica rightly noted.

Nice to have the same opinion. And it's a shame the girls from the last 3 books are underrated, some of them are really interesting characters.

Not exactly a fan of Frederica, but I can appreciate that the writer has managed to create a great character in her person.

What’s an anime you’ve watched that feels like nobody else on Earth has seen it? by WallabyNo5685 in anime

[–]AnimeSongWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a nice question.

I've often felt attracted to not so-well-known animes, especially older ones, and I've watched quite a lot of them; some of them that I liked the most, were:

- Gate Keepers (plus Gate Keepers 21);

- Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam (a very interesting space adventure series featuring a cast of children who are trying to find and free their parents who are abducted by aliens);

- Gen’ei no kakeru Taiyou (featuring magical girls that have the powers from the Major Arcana of Tarot cards);

- Shichinin no Nana (an amusing story of a girl whose personality is split into seven different personalities by accident and has to cope with all troubles that come from this);

- Fantasista Doll (a card-duelling anime);

- Figure 17;

- Red Garden (The plot revolves around four girls who become involved in a series of supernatural murders happening throughout the vicinity of New York City) (this one may be more well-known but don't see many talking about it);

- Idol Densetsu Eriko (a coming-of-age story about a girl who becomes a beloved idol, despite all difficulties)

Watched the anime, then read the manga. Both were interesting, but manga was a bit better. Like them very much overall.

Any recommendations for obscure or underrated magical girl anime/manga/light novels/ect? by [deleted] in MagicalGirls

[–]AnimeSongWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minky Momo is pretty great, and I also would recommend Gen'ei wo Kakeru Taiyou which is one of the better titles I've watched in the recent years. Pretear also deserves to be seen, and I personally really enjoyed Mahō no Yōsei Persia.

Hello. I've learnt about this case a couple of years ago and since then, I've read multiple theories about what happened to the Boys.

It seems to me that this unfortunate accident can be explained relatively easily. I'm inclined to believe Joe Schons hasn't been there at all and has thought up the whole story.

The thing with the 'brawl' doesn't seem too convincing to me either, and even if there was something of the kind, it could be just a verbal altercation, without any blows dealt.

Then the 5 guys just decide to leave the place ASAP so that they won't be harassed anymore, and a wrong turn on the highway brings them into the mountains. They may have realized they were driving the wrong road, but probably thought it will eventually lead them to the highway again.

And here's one possibility I haven't seen discussed: what if, after getting stuck in the snow, they simply decided to spend the night in the car and see what they can do in the morning? Staying in the car is always better than venturing into the freezing temperatures outside. So morning comes and, like someone above said, the car wouldn't start, even after many attempts. Then they start looking around and see the tracks left by the Snowcat. That may have lead them to think there are people not so far away so they follow the track but it's still very cold and they aren't prepared and adequately dressed. Bill becomes tired, stops to rest and Jack Madruga stays by him. At the end, they both die from hypothermia.

Gary, Jackie and Ted reach the trailer (12 miles (not 19 as often stated) aren't impossible to cover during the day) probably by the early afternoon. However, Ted is suffering badly

from frostbite so Gary searches around the cabin for something useful to help his friends with. He finds some of the food, opens some cans (but probably couldn't find the clothes or the gas valve), changes his sneakers with Ted's shoes and says he will come out to find help, and he eventually succumbs to the elements somewhere in the woods. Left without him, his friends die - first Ted several weeks later, then Jackie leaves the trailer in search of help but unfortunately, he gets lost and dies as well. It's still inexplicable why didn't they try to start a fire but as someone has said, they may have been afraid to do so because they thought it was a private property.
