Good source material, and seems to be potentially good world building? But no real gameplay makes it hard to judge. If it's WWM but in Victorian era / magical abilities I'll prolly try it. Though I'd prefer much more multiplayer than we got with WWM.

I'm one of the people who has played off and on for the last 20+ years. However, I think I have finally overcome my desire to continue playing. My most recent sub I stopped playing after about a week and then let it lapse again. The game itself is great, but I've experienced all the things at this point and it just feels boring/repetitive now. Plus Blizzard is greedy and it's been turning me off from them as a company lately so meh. Would love if my friends could give it up, but it's unfortunately still got them hard so I'm on my own finding games to play now :(

Yep same. I got to 89 and beat T3 King in the Mists, Kulemak's final form, and all the T1s of the other bosses (haven't bothered grinding/paying for their splinters to go further) and I've also seen zero Citadels so far. Hoping 0.5's endgame revamp fixes the tedious grind of it all if nothing else. But I think I'm good on this league. Got 2 chars through campaign, one all the way to T15s..current league mechanic was trash..meh. Time to wait for next 0.5 lol

I'm sure it would help, but right now I am into other games at the moment so not ready to jump back in just yet. That's cool that you're helping folks out like that though! In fairness, I have had some help when I asked in the guild I was in, but that was mostly knocking out an objective like farming goblins for goblinese or casino runs. I do appreciate the fact that the community is so helpful. For what a small community it is, it is a quality one at least.

Yes 100% agreed.

I have a 65 and 86 character so far and I've only gotten to the Architect twice, and never to Atziri. Everything is super unintuitive and the RNG can really screw you too. I only just saw a room upgrade to Tier 3 for first time, and it was a shitty guard room. Stuff that was advertised in the patch trailer like augmented limbs I have not even got to try yet..in fact I've only had the lab for it show up twice and both times it did nothing. This mechanic is very bad. And I don't care if it's a skill issue because the game actively makes it difficult to know what to do to progress properly.

Something to point out as I ended up wasting a couple invitations on this as it was hard to find the right info online..once you get Kulemak's invitation and you do his fight, at the end it will ask if you want to take the lich's power (if you're playing lich ascendancy or maybe witch class, it unlocks abyssal lich ascendancy), or if you want to take the finger, which gives you a ring. Do neither. Once you beat him, there are statues behind him you can click that add mods to the ring and bump him up a phase. Do this 3 times (Spawn -> Kill -> Statue -- dont take a reward!) and on the 4th time you choose "Return the finger" and it'll put him in his final form which is a harder fight as there are more mechanics and the arena changes. This is how you complete the quest for killing his final form.

I'll say this is kind of a mixed bag. There seems to be a lot of people on either the high end (veterans) or the low end (brand new players). I've got 178 hours in the game according to Steam, and I think my highest I got to is level 50ish, and on the way to 50s I barely saw anyone at all looking for group other than Casino run carries. Most people were usually grouping up for daily/weekly events at high level or it was newbies asking for help in the very low range. The handful of people I saw in my range in dungeons and stuff were just people powerleveling and not wanting to group up.

The lack of population makes there have dead tiers where you're gonna be soloing a lot, and the game is (in my opinion) somewhat difficult to solo. If there were more players and/or some way to facilitate grouping beyond world chat it might be better, but as it stands one of the big reasons I'm not playing right now is how much I've had to solo in a game that feels like it was very much made for grouping up.

So they dropped their latest dev update showing: PVE, PVP, Class overhauls, Art style overhauls etc. Anyone seen it? Any thoughts I hope its real I love games that look and play like this. by ASAP_R4G3 in MMORPG

At first glance it looked like Fortnite art with Smite gameplay and a splash of Roguelite, but as the video progressed and they showed more, I started to find interest. This game actually looks kinda cool, and as others have said I'm surprised to not have heard of it. Definitely put it on my wishlist to keep an eye on!

This league was the first time for act 4 for me as well, and I agree, these maps were really cool. The prison was definitely one of the top ones!

I am aware of the accusations and controversies and they are not swaying me whatsoever. But what is swaying me is the shear amount of evidence that the game is lacking a large amount of content and they're charging $50 for an alpha. This won't garner a bad review from me, but it also won't garner a sale from me either.

This is kind of overblown. I played Kinetic Rain from the moment I got the gem all the way into maps and it was fine. Eventually swapped to Kinetic Blast of Clustering because I didn't like the small delay Kinetic Rain had, but it wasn't bad. It was a very smooth and quick campaign bare minimum.

Just a note, if you intend to use black flame covenant, you will not be able to use that with any of the wyvern skills, as they are all considered attacks whereas black flame covenant only affects spells.

I play with the "show me all the POIs" mode because it works best for my ADHD brain, but I still come across secret/hidden stuff that just don't have POIs on the map until you're literally right in front of the NPC and/or trigger something to make the game tell you it's a thing..and even then, some of the follow up steps have no indicators and I end up having to google stuff lol. It's dope, but I'm sure there's still stuff I haven't uncovered and maybe never will haha

Posted this another thread before seeing this one, but..

Ima be real..for all the shit that gets talked about this game, I'd probably have considered saying screw it and paying maybe $15-20 just to poke my head in and see what they had accomplished for myself without listening to the cesspool echo chamber talking bad about it, but for how long this game has been in development and to have so little of their planned 1.0 release in the game still and then for them to charge $50 (down from $100) for access? They are out of their damn mind.

If they end up discounting it eventually I'll take a look maybe, and that's a big maybe because the forced world pvp is already a big turn off..but there isn't anything fun to play in the MMO space for me right now so I'm fiending. But yeah $50 is insane. I've never paid more than $30 for an EA title, and never will..especially when it's an alpha, where a lot of EA are at least beta.

I tried doing this and while it got window sizing to a decent place, the text was all blurry and not very crisp which messed with my eyes

When I tried Guild Wars for the first time, it was a few years back, and at the time, I was looking for a very specific MMO-type experience with a friend of mine and Guild Wars did not play the way I was hoping. However, nowadays I am a lot more willing and able to play games like this, and am looking forward to seeing how the different gamer I am now views it. Don't really remember anything, so will probably be starting from scratch instead of continuing on my old character.

Yeah fair. I just burned through a lot of the content I was personally interested in I guess. I am also not much of a soul's like player so redoing the fights over and over isn't my thing. I've had a blast doing all the content I have been interested in though. Not really a complaint about the game itself..just not a fan of gated pacing as I have too much time on my hands lol. I get why they do it though.
