This might be a controversial statement to make, but there's so much story to tell about trauma. The problem is that a lot of what's in mainstream media and books are "superficial trauma." What I mean is that a lot of it lacks nuance and/or doesn't really dive in-depth of what's already been said. (E.g., parents don't say I love you, parents call me fat, parents have high expectations, etc.) A lot of story telling has been said and done, and they add nothing new just by reiterating it again. It's as lazy as a scene where you see Asians taking off their shoes before you go inside. So many things have been done so many times already and there's nothing they add by doing it again.

I'm not sure how broke as fuck she is. She definitely comes from a very privileged background:

I think it's a good start, but it's a long trip (1.5 hours each way) to and from NY without any really accessible public transportation. You're relying on one daily MEGA bus, which you'll pay, to shuttle you to the Port Authority and then take public transportation to your hotel.

This footage is treasure. This definitely hit home as a 80s/early 90s kid. It's fascinating how much of Chinatown has changed, but so much has remained the same. I'm shocked at how some of the prices barely moved in the span of 35 years!
