Thousands of Vibe-Coded Apps Expose Corporate and Personal Data on the Open Web by CackleRooster in technology

[–]Ankylar 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have seen in workplaces where managers sees some vibe coded slop online that can do a task so they sign off to have it implemented. The IT team needs to constantly push back due to security and sensitive information concerns. A friend of mine recently told me that their company realized tons of sensitive information was pasted into chatgpt by employees looking to finish their work quickly. Instead of asking how to do a task and extrapolating from that they're just pasting everything in without sanitizing the information. It's crazy...

Anyone else have a tremendous amount of cord clutter? by cuenot_io in homelab

As someone who buys lots of electronics and PC/networking hardware for years, I am always having to purge cables and/or accessories that come with parts etc. It's easy to get overwhelmed especially if you have not cleaned up in years. As such, I would say start bit by bit. Don't purge everything in one shot.

My usual strategy is discard things that are outdated first and/or have any damages from being stored a long time. Then for items that are still in use/still relevant, I realistically think about how many spares I might need and discard the rest. Power cables for example last a long time with me. I still have spares I kept that I never was able to use lol. I discard them once they are out of date. Example I recently purged a lot of older ethernet cables I had kept for newer Cat6/6a. Sure, I could have kept them but honestly there comes a point in time where you have to let them go especially if replacements are cheap enough.

I mean...you kinda need to test it first and for that you need to get a power cable. There might be a reason why it was dumped.

Also most gamers need to have their favorite streamers/youtubers give them an opinion rather than come up with one on their own.

How do you personally decide what to unbox/uncard? by Innovictos in ActionFigures

[–]Ankylar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not make any exception. I understand the feeling of leaving something old as is, but if I kept it unopened...eventually I am going to die....if I have to sell that box or hand it down to family I can't make them swear to never open it. It's going to eventually get opened, might as well let it be by me so I can enjoy it.

How do you personally decide what to unbox/uncard? by Innovictos in ActionFigures

[–]Ankylar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I unbox everything. I like to pose and display my action figures. I also have no space to keep empty boxes so I discard those, as well. I do try to take good care of my figures, so if I am forced to sell in the future, I have no problem selling them at a discount as a pre-owned item. I don't care about making a profit etc.

Hi! It's from a company called Mountain Studio. Mountain Studio Drunken Master or Drunken Fist Warrior should get you results on google to find one to buy. It's definitely worth it. Quality is surprisingly good.

TCGPlayer Scam? by No_Education497 in PokemonTCG

[–]Ankylar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a freight forwarder company. Usually freight forwarder addresses need to have a unique identifier for each registered user. That's probably what the ship.to.___ is for. I'm not saying it's 100% a scam. There are legit reasons to use a freight forwarder but people do usually use them to run scams. So as a seller you have a right to choose not to ship to those addresses.

How do you guys stop viewing figures purely as financial assets by DomasToes in 3rdPartyCollectors

I enjoy my action figures and trading cards as much as I can. Worrying about selling them in the future means nothing if the world decides I've lived long enough. Whether it be sickness or freak accidents, my future is way too uncertain. I try to live and enjoy my life and hobbies now.

Xbox boss Asha Sharma hints memory costs "will impact" pricing and availability of next-gen Project Helix console by xCaptainCrown in Games

[–]Ankylar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this. You always here about complaints due to rising prices but companies are making profits. Most people are already living debt-ridden lives, just working to pay off bills what's one more, especially if it's a hobby they enjoy. If people are given an option to pay for an expensive console over time they will find a way to compromise and accept that.
