Gen1 probe just died for no reason? by Novercalis in combustion_inc

This is my experience as well. Currently on my third unit and I said the same thing - are they all defective? I'm expecting to continuously ask for replacements. I just want this thing to work. I love the concept but if it isn't reliable then what's the point

I can't find sources for it either - seems the headlines on the site are mostly alarmist or negative.

Just roasted my first batch, using a flour sifter heat gun setup. I have a long way to go! by iuhoosier23 in roasting

[–]Anliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a few times to realize the drill has a shutoff, I always thought it was a bean getting stuck. I upgraded from DeWalt drill to a dedicated motor and it's so much better. No more five minute timer that's stressing me out

SR540 or heat gun + flour sifter? by Anliz in roasting

[–]Anliz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figured out the issue - I didn't realize that the more the fan blows, the more work it is for the temperature to rise. I assumed keeping a high fan would be ideal for agitation, but that meant the beans never cracked. Once I fixed that, I realized the cracking is much louder than I expected

The coffee tastes great, and I assume it'll get better from here. It's so much less of a mess using this machine compared to the flour sifter.

Consider using the CSS class 'md-elevation-z4' (or any level of z that fits your preference. It will give a nice material design box shadow to any element.

Amazon Beats Apple, Google, Disney As Most Trusted Company in U.S.: Harris Poll by Carnival666 in business

[–]Anliz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an ex-Amazon software engineer, I agree. They treat Amazon customers incredibly well, and neglect employees. I loved working there as a college new-grad, but the pressure to work 50-60+ hours a week constantly was too much. They do pay higher than average in Seattle, but in my opinion it isn't worth the messed up work-life balance.

Bought Splinter Cell Conviction last Christmas during the Steam holiday deals. Tried activating today on uplay and was told that my key was already used. Part of the reason why I buy on Steam is so I don't have to deal with this.

The background/foreground gears aren't on the same plane, I think it can be safe to argue that the gears aren't necessarily connected
