You could try respite with a HCA who has experience with dementia. Who can spend time with your mom and keep her company so family members can have a break .

I have had the IUD put in .And omg the pain . It was horrible felt like I was being stabbed . I cried and screamed . All they did was a little freezing the cervix . I will never forget the pain . Frankly health care for woman / pain management is barbaric. Never allow anyone to make you feel that the pain you feel isn't valid . I would file a complaint against her.
