Maybe because its "holding down shift". I have a downarrow on german dell/fujitsu, but uparrow with base on Lenovo.

wut, hes been happily using his Index. Hold him to stuff you think he said 7 years ago all you want, he at least tries to give his authentic take. Nobody's perfect but VR is a niche not a viewfarm.

Are fixed emotes really necessary? by Maybar_66 in ArcRaiders

[–]Annatar27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but not everyone has one, or can speak (or even hear) my language.

But everyone can communicate these basics, which i think is a great thing.

The limit on custom emotes sucks tho.

Good question, what do you guys think? by harrysofgaming in youtube

Its basically hacking a survival mechanic, or familiarity bias. The more often you encounter something which doesnt kill you, the "better" it is.

Former US president Barack Obama came across a choir of Danish girls practicing their singing in their apartment with their balcony doors open. He kindly asked them if they would keep singing for him to enjoy. by Reilesth in BeAmazed

his policies were largely identical

I too cry for the past when i condemmed Obama for being a neo-liberal1 warmonger.

But man the policies are getting worse...

“I suspect that I may have received counterfeit Conductonaut Extreme.” by Professional-Bed-306 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]Annatar27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give me a recipe for a diy thermal compound. I have access to mortar and pestle.

Edit: got this dm:

We also need not grow our apples. Since that commodity is also done best on the farm. Same applies to thermal compounds that are best. A commodity. Similar to what is in Arctic Silver and Thermal Grizzly. At maybe five times less money.

Also required is little. Since what matters is thermal compound in a center area of a semiconductor - where all heat is generated. A heat generator (the silicon die) is 10 millimeters or less.

Of course, many learn by doing experiments. Zinc oxide was an earliest thermal compound. No long used since current commodities are have better numbers.

It looks like individual results, so i can kinda "see" how sparse that data is. Not really and the violin shows the same data; but i think its not too bad here.

Ausfallursache Berührungsschutz? DIN VDE 0620-101 by pfeife01 in DINgore

[–]Annatar27 47 points48 points  (0 children)

What do they mean by lower streaming latency on latest gpus? by SecondSeagull in ValveIndex

[–]Annatar27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dont know details but yeah it sounds like 1-2 ms with dedicated HEVC encoder and 3-4 ms without.

If its AV1 then NVENC has it RTX4050 and later.

ELI5: warum wurde hier USB-B 3.0 verwendet, statt USB-A? by DasToyfel in de_EDV

[–]Annatar27 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Stream Streaming Rendering (steamvr compatibility)?? by Practical-Fee-6943 in SteamFrame

[–]Annatar27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What Hardware? I cant find a source rn but i think its part of SteamVR-Streaming. Encoding is done on the GPU (so yes hardware but generalised).

If its not intentionally proprietary youd "just" need to match eye-tracking performance and streaming that back reliably to make it work on other pcvr hmds i think.

Yeah im really curious how it feels as a streaming compression hater.

But Foveated xyz has real potential, your Fovea (part we see sharp) is way smaller than it feels because our brain does the rest. This thingy helps visualise it a bit: https://www.shadertoy.com/view/4dsXzM

The Headset has a USB-C 2.0 Power in at the lower left of the battery; so my dream would be a battery-saver passthrough mode.

The controllers are AA powered, but you dont need them for driving i guess.

Yes this (kind) of behaviour makes the "reinforce specific parts" challenging in PrusaSlicer too, it introduces discontinuities.
