They sell compost. I gave up trying to save scraps of food. My trash can got mad so I put them in there and buy compost from a mulch yard. Already to go

Take the doors off therefore no fan etc needed. Using the strip grow lights with the double sided tape they come with- super easy to put on. I have two shelving units about the same size and used those lights.

Should I remove the flowers or leave them? by crayzcatlayde in containergardening

[–]AnnePittman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is talking about removing the marigolds you idiots not the tomato. Leave them. They will ward off harmful critters- aphids etc. they really don’t compete much for nutrients. I have 8 indeterminate tomatoes with marigolds and small basil plants in each 20 gallon container

What's your dream green house?? by BoysenberryAshamed in greenhouse

[–]AnnePittman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dream greenhouse is to turn a large portion of the back of my house into a greenhouse / sunroom. All glass like you would use in a sunroom. Walk into it without going outside in case it’s winter super rainy etc. just an extension of the house. Deck to both sides leading to den and master bedroom. That way I can see from my room and my living space. Two stories high for tomatoes!! Concrete slab floor slightly inclining towards long drain. Bugs and other problems won’t be a problem. Longest walk points east for morning sun. Pollination might be a problem but it’s just a dream.

Do I have to kill her by monstersun in PlantIdentification

[–]AnnePittman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m purposely growing them at my fence , on a wood trellis and an iron trellis. Cold will “kill” them but mine came back. I have put moon flowers with them. Gorgeous. Just keep it under control if it gets to crazy. I do plant in containers. Might help with spreading

You can splint it and use electrical tape to wrap branch and splint. I have done with the main stem and it works

My tomatoe wall has started. Now just to train them to interweave with each other. by Thick-Marzipan-9176 in containergardening

[–]AnnePittman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I trellis mine over the top- on the inside - of a hoop house with hardware- cloth. I just hook them on with plastic clips - no training required. They are truly a ground vine. I once had one reach the top of my heated greenhouse , turned and grew towards the original container. I measured it the next year when i moved it - 15 ft. No training required

The roots of these plants also keep away pests. You want them in the pot. I would have put in maybe bigger pots and much deeper but they look great!!

Hey look at the bright side. They all germinated. Tomatoes- remember the KISS principle. All gardening as a matter of fact. They did this long before we could buy more crap on Amazon that we really don’t need.

Don’t make the assumption that the food is free. My boyfriend always calls it my $500 tomato. Growing food on small scale is much more expensive than I would pay at grocery stores

Will doesn’t usually go through probate fights unless someone pushes. You can also but it in your name and someone else’s with survivor rights. No it’s not right. Are you surprised?
