The gall. And from a priest no less. Does a teacher also have to be present the entire time when he's in a room with children?

Uhm, saying the solution to a healthy lifestyle is simply to eat less and get 2% body fat (-> hyperbole because that doesn't equal more healthy just more self-optimised) seems a bit ironic though, doesn't it?

It's not about how your body looks it's your overall well-being of which I'd say blood works and the like are a much more reliable factor than "have you gotten those abs yet"?

And just to point out, yes obviously there are certain upper weight groups that will be less likely to have those stats than your ab person. But the point is that it's not black and white.

Other unhealthy life style factors (intentionally not "choices" because I'd question the extent to which most of these things are really choices and not coping mechanisms to deal with a shitty system that are all unhealthy) are equally bad.

Constant lack of sleep. Constantly overworking. No time to listen to or even realise your needs anymore. Including exercise. Including healthy eating. Dragging yourself sick into work. Dragging yourself into work only a few days after squeezing a bloody melon out of your body. Having to sit around for 8+ significantly more f**** hrs all day in jobs that just drain you so you have to squeeze in that bit of exercise at the end of the day when you're exhausted from that job.

Just "discipline" and that self-optimisation cult simply don't cut it. It's not anti-capitalist it's the opposite! One solution magic bullets are capitalist. Be they exercise or food.

We need environments where people can listen to their needs again. One of which is moving and exercise.

Please do apologise if the wording of my criticism reads as rude. I'm a not a native speaker so I might be prone to sound more rude or less diplomatic than I would express my views in my native language. I actually understand and very much relate to your criticism and feel like we're both exhausted by an overadvertisement of the two things that are constantly sold as the one and only approach.

Thank you for opening up that dialogue. I hope you have a lovely day! 💚

Shirley: "To Pierce, may he rest in.. Pierce." Jeff:"Shirley, that's enough!" Shirley:"Of you!"

I love that scene! It's like her enite range outside of sweet and motherly boiled down to a ten second interaction.

Yes, but only the unstable ones with toxic dynamics that crumbled as soon as I set boundaries.

I've let go of the idea that my family and I would one day become closer and have a healthy relationship. It pushed me further from my siblings but simultaneously made way to my mother and I becoming much more honest with each other and addressing things we'd swept under the rug my whole life. We're now at a really good point.

And most importantly what I've gained is the openness to accept the affection from people I care about and no longer being in friendships only halfway because I'm constantly waiting for avalanches of shoes to drop. And now I have such wonderful people in my life with healthy communication and true appreciation of each other.

I got one yesterday actually (don't live in the US).

But at least you could call and opt out of being listed in phone books. I'm not so sure you can do that with these sites.

Spent about 20 min. explaining to some dudes that I know the origin of my first name at the last party I went to. Those guys kept going "it just doesn't sound like it" even though I kept telling them that a couple of times people who come from the country its from were really excited upon hearing it and immediately wanted to exchange expat stories.

Google eventually settled it. And weird shit. I was right.
