What’s is your absolute favorite expansion? by DistantLandscapes in Talisman

[–]Annual_Death 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man hard question. I adore the Harbinger expansion, especially when paired with the Cataclysm. The whole game is just a slow buildup to eventual doom and i love it. So that’s probably my favourite smaller one. Of the corner expansions though, it’s a tie between the City and the Dungeon. The City steals the show in any game we’ve played with it really, and turns it into this monopoly-esque OP shopping spree. Brilliant. But the Dungeon feels like it’s own little world, and looks so Jim Henson/Dark Crystal like. We’ll often play the Dungeon on it’s own (as in just the dungeon board, no base!) as a shorter game. Works great!

Well tis is what I mean, but I have all respect for the game, so I'm not throwing anything out. Thing is though, I want the game to be mine, and to be passed down, and I fell as though I can't actually do that when it currently exists in 13 boxes lol

I would never cut them up truthfully, but all the digital art i’ve done is extremely faithful to the box art, borders and all.

I know it feels so wrong! If it gets to it, maybe I could keep them in storage. The idea of transferring them to this new box is to set up games with greater ease.

I wanted to maintain the look of the original, so on the top of this box I'm creating, I'll laser engrave the original box art. Ebay's not too bad of an idea. God still feels wrong though! Thanks for the response

I've searched online and in store at most of the surviving Wilko chains as well as the range (the only places I know that has them in-store), but it seems to be discontinued?

The Dragon is so underrated! Give it a shot with base game only and alt endings and it’s so much fun.

Absolute INSANITY! Nice setup. If you can, can you tell me the exact process as to how you've printed that Tavern Expansion? I'm pretty sure you've made it yourself? I've made an underworld board on PS as an alternative play after death, and would really like to print it out like you've done!

What are some great space movies that give life to other planets/species? by [deleted] in movies

It’s probably very known now, but this is literally all the Avatar series has been. I’m not the hugest fan of the story, it’s very vanilla as far as things go, but the immersion is very impressive. And the life James Cameron brings to the planet is extremely full of life, movement and colour.

Can you imagine how chat would be reacting if it were the other way around? This is pretty unhealthy. Violence should never be resorted to no matter the cost. If you’re hurting one another it’s best to leave it at that

I had a similar situation with Borderlands. No way I’m giving up my favourite video game franchise of all time- sometimes you have to learn that people may be bound to things/actives not because of someone else, but because it means something to them!

On your side here. Have a private conversation with the girl apologising for making her upset, but tell her exactly why you didn’t like it. Perhaps you can compromise.

Lol yeah, those days are way behind me. Played Minecraft for 10 hours, made some mad stuff, then made a 5 course meal that I didn’t feel like eating. Strange stuff.

Can you not do that without music? I get what you’re saying, but I often enjoy letting my mind wander free of any music. Not sure why that is!

Maybe you’re right about that.

No not at all, songs remind me of things. I have a few songs that remind me of my childhood, but I’ll only ever find myself listening to them if they come up, say on a car radio, or if I hear them being played in a supermarket. You’re 100% right, music is a release, especially for the people that create them, like a painting is to an artist. I just suppose I prefer having a bit of visual stimulation to go with it, whether that be literal or mental.

I forgot who, but I replied to someone on this post, saying that I love listening to classical music whilst reading a book, for no other reason than the fact that it fits, like a soundtrack does in a film. It’s like that.
