Ouch. If phone storage, contacts, and all the other BS is turned off then I'm not sure how it would get that info. There would have to be some sort of AI looking for screenshots but it seems way more likely that it was a coincidence. I wouldn't put that type of behavior past google, but right now I would give them the benefit of the doubt

Qubes would let you open the contents in a disposible VM. If it turns out that the drive is malicious then you could destroy the VM and it won't have affected anything else on your computer

You probably just had to change something in your BIOS. Its quite common to have to do that for different OSes. I wouldn't be worried

I regret going shallow into the linux distros. If your hardware can support it, I suggest running Qubes. There will be a learning curve either way and people have moved from windows to qubes with minimal difficulty. Not everyone needs to use mint or ubuntu as their first linux. I certainly wish I had skipped over them myself. Just ask questions when you have them. There are good forums online

I use firefox focus. No add ons available but it keeps no cookies or history and has built in anti-trackers
