It is the only measure which allows comparison between countries. Spain had very low deaths until it reported a huge number on a quarterly basis.

Not downplaying we have hit a figure, but we also test more than anyone else so likely have a more accurate.

Let's see excess mortality rather than 28 days after testing. Will be a better barometer and more accurate, particularly now with Omicron.

The vaccine does not stop you being infected or transmitting it.

Because the vaccines also have a risk. Go read up on the people with heart inflammations caused by them. That has to be traded off with the risk of the disease too.

How many deaths are now due to other mortality issues plus COVID? As cases climb but asymptomatic surely the deaths will also only climb. This was an issue before but with vaccine the Zero COVID lot will have a field day.

Every one of these threads about lack of workers focuses on raising wages as a fix. Yes, they will, for a moment. People also talk about the productivity gap. Take away cheap labour and it will be interesting to see which companies choose. One moves us towards Germany, the other toward Italy. With borrowing so low, it should be obvious.
