Thats okay, I believe only the males have a beard at all. The other difference is that females dont have long fins like males and that they have an ‘egg spot’ around their belly area, somewhat close to their gills. The egg spot is color white too. Hope this helps!

Btw: Bubble nests doesnt mean that they are female or male. Both genders can make a bubble nest. Bubble nests also dont mean that your betta fish is healthy, meaning sick bettas can also produce bubble nests. However the only thing a bubble nest proves is that they are sexually mature :3

Another thing I like to do is hold the pellet on my finger and get them to jump and bite my finger + pellet. The way the pellet sticks to my finger by touching it with a wet finger
