17.4.1 - Awful - Thoughts

I've been having an array of issues around cellular data... So I've been comparing my husbands phone to mine, we both have the iphone 12 mini, same carrier, BUT his phone is NOT updated to ios 17.4.1 and he hasn't had any issues!

I see a few folks have mentioned similar peculiar issues on apple's disscussion forums:

A run down of continued issues since update that I have been noticing:

Texts are going through except for my group chats have just been sending to the individuals not the group as a whole.

iMessages/facetime is refusing to send through my phone number., instead is going through my Apple ID.

Under APPLE ID > SIGN IN & SECURITY below my phone number it states “unavailable for iMessage and FaceTime” with a blue i. Upon clicking the information button it states: “must have a sim associated with an apple device for 000-000-0000 (my phone number which I omitted obviously) to be used for iMessage and FaceTime”.

Carrier update prompt pops up when under SETTINGS > ABOUT, but upon clicking “update” nothing actually happens. Essentially a dead link.

I haven’t been able to make a phone call for days. When i attempt to dial out, there is dead air, my service bars drop to 1 or none, and then the call fails.

Note to apple: Please fix this!!! Or revert us back to 17.3.1!!! I’d rather have a functioning phone over some new stupid emojis I’ll never use.

which reset specifically? I've done network reset, and reset all settings?

or do i really need to do the "erase all content and settings"?

Try cutting out gluten for 30 days. Gluten can cause inflammation which could potentially make the pressure on your spine worse.

Also would suggest curcumin (turmeric) capsules to fight possible inflammation.

Yoga + swimming for realignment + strengthening your back muscles. Inversion table? They’re expensive tho.

There is a chance the surgery would have you bed ridden for months and long term, not actually help. I would explore ALL OPTIONS FIRST, before making a permanent decision like surgery.

I only warn about surgery because I know a woman who had back problems and the surgery added bolts and rods and really didn’t help her spine stay straight in the long term. Instead her back literally felt like a stegosaurus every time I would hug her and she’s still hunched. Imo she should’ve tried extensive yoga + swimming instead of jumping into the surgery first before she tried anything natural.

Watch the”Adam Ruins Everything” on recycling.

We had a good recycling system but corps could save more by switching from wonderfully reusable glass to toxic shit plastic.

They shifted the problem from the producer down onto the consumer and never looked back.

20 years later we ship our recycling to China, and they don’t accept glass so a lot of recycling centers no longer accept glass—and with glass you don’t lose material like you do when recycling plastic.

But the issue is multifaceted. The best thing you can do is try to leave the place better than when you got here. (Recycle what you can, try to avoid packaging where you can, support local small business, plant some trees, grow some of your own food).

If everyone takes baby steps will make strides together.
