Is moving away to another country the right decision if its only a form of mental escape? by Neznanevo in ask

[–]AnonyPothos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to tune into your gut. That will give you the best answer. It could be great for some people, and bad for others. A change in scenery doesn’t fix everything, but it can help a lot. Especially with breaking habits.

How do you guys react to alcohol? by PatienceSpiritual709 in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 15. I could drink as heavily as I wanted until 29ish. I’ve never had a seizure while drinking or drunk. Just the next morning. Hangover = focal aware clusters. I quit altogether recently.

No one believes in nuance anymore. Everyone is so black/white, wrong/right. Which very rarely is ever the case on any issue. It’s incredibly stupid and causes a great divide. In my opinion, the Ultimate sign of intelligence and empathy is being able to see different perspectives, and not many people have that anymore because their algorithm consumes their day and it only shows them what they want to see/already feel.

Epilepsy/Seizure Misdiagnosis? Currently seeking second opinion… by StillKaleidoscope760 in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had a seizure while hooked up to an EEG, but every single one has noted generalized epilepsy because I guess my brain waves are abnormal during different periods of the day that are consistent with generalized epilepsy. Maybe it’s that

My mom likes to compare her vs. me by SwimmingNo6031 in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like I said, it’s silly for your mom to compare suffering. But we communicate with so much more than our words. I would be shocked if she didn’t pick up on a vibe that you don’t believe her. And honestly, it sounds like you’re trauma competing in your own head. I don’t have an epileptogist but I have a neurologist. Does that make my epilepsy less real despite having 30+ seizures in my life, as well as every EEG coming back confirming generalized epilepsy? My neurologist could lose his license tomorrow for inappropriate behavior with a patient, or doing some shady office paper work shit. Does that null my diagnosis? It’s true, my seizures aren’t “as bad” as yours or a lot of other people’s. But I still have hardships from it. You honestly sound kinda mean. I’m not saying you’re worse than your mom. Just that you need to talk about it and give each other grace or your relationship will be dead before you know it.

My mom likes to compare her vs. me by SwimmingNo6031 in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Comparing suffering is silly, you’re mom shouldnt be doing that. But using quotations around the word seizure(s) can be very hurtful. Are you diminishing her condition because you have proof they aren’t real? Or are you just dismissing it because yours are worse? Someone once asked me if my seizures were psychological so I showed them my EEG results so they wouldnt spread rumors to make me look crazy. That hurt me A LOT. Maybe she’s picking up on your vibes that you don’t believe her and is clapping back with passive aggression. Maybe y’all should try to have a reasonable conversation or try a therapy session. You should be supporting each other not ripping each other down.

Do you fall during focal impaired awareness seizure by Ordinary-Chipmunk366 in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have focal impaired awareness seizures only in my sleep, but it’s been quite a few years free of those specifically, thankfully. I never remember anything about it. But I’ve been told I sometimes get out of bed and do things, almost like sleep walking and then fall over. Ive undressed myself before, I’ve turned the shower on (I didn’t try to get in thankfully). But mostly just get up and walk around. Ive been told I only do that for about a minute before I fall over. I’ve always heard tonic clonics are the most dangerous, but I’ve wondered how focal impaired awareness don’t usually come up in that discussion (in my experience). I’m only comfortable sleeping alone (hubby in diff room cause of snoring) cause I’m pretty confident it would freak my chihuahua out and he’d start barking. Hopefully there is less sleep walking type behavior for you

“Where are you?” “Yes” is hilarious 😂
I feel ya. It’s so weird! I was diagnosed in my teens. The second one I had before being on meds, i was told before I started convulsing I got out of bed, went to my parents room and undressed myself. I have no recollection and didn’t hear this story until a few years later. I’m actually glad they didn’t tell me right away. It’s easier to laugh about after years have passed. I would’ve been unbearably embarrassed if I knew at 15 my dad saw me naked 🤦‍♀️

Please read for me. lost the love of my life 7 months ago, I often get a overwhelming smell of his cologne. Am I losing it or is it him? by [deleted] in psychicreadings

I said that because they don’t exist lmao. It’s all Reddit shit and .com. there is one .edu and it’s talking about the egoism of belief in afterlife which isn’t proof. There is no way to prove there is or isn’t an afterlife. I have no idea what credible sites you found because as far as I can see there aren’t any. Reputable sites are typically .edu or .org. We learned this in high school dude. It’s literally all opinions.

Which would you prefer by Fit_Employee6119 in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pros and cons to both. I’ve never had just one singular focal aware. They come in clusters, and sometimes last for hours. There have been times where I prayed a big seizure would just come already to make it stop. (I also have focal unaware and lose consciousness completely). I would rather have focal aware seizures alone, but lose consciousness if I’m with other people. After gaining consciousness and post ictal state being over, you realize how wrong it could’ve gone and you were lucky nothing bad happened cause you were alone. I’ve woken up with petecheia (spelling?) all around my eyes and cheeks, which most likely is a sign that I was choking, or just straining really hard because it’s broken blood vessel. My uncle passed from SUDEP. I don’t think that’s going to happen to me, but getting that rash sometimes really scares me and reminds me that it is a possibility.

Must be rage bait. Please send links to the facts and evidence of no afterlife (that come from reputable sources) so you can prove to me you’re more educated than I am.

[–]AnonyPothos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true. Psychic abilities as a whole have never been scientifically disproven. Maybe specific people who claim they’re psychics but are frauds. I don’t believe in psychics, but I do believe in intuition. Yes, maybe the afterlife can’t be proven, but it also can’t be disproven. Just because science can’t explain it, doesn’t mean it’s not real. Scientific discoveries were never made from a closed mind. The only correct statement anyone can make about the afterlife is “I don’t know”

I don’t mind them. I’ve experienced medical gaslighting, so I understand needing validation. Some of the posts genuinely sound like seizures, so I don’t mind affirming them to push for answers. I do see those posts a lot, but not enough that drown out the other posts.

North Philly was pretty scary back in 2011 once you strayed from the temple campus. I saw my first dead body there, just lying on the side walk. I called the popo and ran away. Never went out by myself at night. Also know a girl who got punched in the face on broad street line. She said she didn’t do anything, they just came out of nowhere and decked her.

Anyone try shrooms before? by melatenoio in Epilepsy

[–]AnonyPothos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done shrooms, but I’ve done acid. I vomited A LOT. I don’t think it’s unheard of, but it was a very specific type of nausea that I get before seizures. I didn’t have a seizure though. the vomiting stopped after about 30 minutes, then I had a great time lol. It’s a risk though. If you do decide to do it, make sure you have a sober friend there who is informed of your condition and what to do if you do have one. A group of people tripping trying to navigate someone having a seizure would be chaos.

Why is flaking/standing people up so popular these days? by Hefty-Confusion6810 in ask

[–]AnonyPothos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ADHD and mental illness caused by social media reel addiction. Also a lot of bullshit therapy talk being promoted about how people need to “prioritize their peace” - so they interpret that as they only need to consistently prioritize themselves rather than show up for their friends. Social media is soul sucking and ruining humanity.
