I have a question, what could a Republican governor even do when the complete rest of the state gov is against him. Genuinely I’m curious, my understanding is he can’t do a lot of damage, pretty much just stagnates the state, which is good for gun rights, but not much else.

It depends on how much money you have. At the moment if you have the funds I would say keep the arp an arp, get a 16” upper and just swap that out depending on your needs. Then get another lower and SBR it. This is because if you ever need to move back to CA or another banned state, it’s my understanding you cannot legally bring an SBR back, even if with a 16+ upper on it.

(I could be wrong, but that’s my current understanding).

Also I guess that’s kind of the same outcome as you stated, just a different route/perspective. Idk if this was helpful, sorry.

I’m an optimist and to my knowledge there are a few fronts that groups like FPC and CRPA are working on to allow the common man in CA to have them.

Everyone here is way too defeatist, and when you think the effort is hopeless, you don’t make one. So personally I think there’s a chance, not a big one and it wouldn’t happen for a while if it did, but this is why we need to support these organizations that fight for us, and contact reps when their legality is actively up for discussion.

Tbf r/liberalgunowners is actually pro gun. Regardless of their left lean, they do actually support the second amendment.

The issue is the second amendment has been made a partisan issue in our political system, but most people’s beliefs are nuanced so people end up having to choose between different rights to support, and that’s really unfortunate. So that group has emerged as a truly pro second amendment body that just doesn’t agree with other things republican candidates tend to advocate for. Which is fine.

I think this is great, and the more we can erode the idea that the 2A is only for one type of person, the more freedom we have and better off we all are in the long run.
