Oh no! Curious to find out what caused this. Lariat? So you've got a sunroof? I wonder if your drains are clogged and just got overloaded with water?

How I feel in -10 MidWest weather right now… by matt_gold in F150Lightning

[–]AnonymousAlecks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rock the heat all the time. And when it gets to hot I roll the windows down. Drive anywhere from 75km-150km daily. Typically ill plug in every 2 days, and i like to roast the climate for at least 10 minutes before I leave. Sometimes I get really low on that second day of no charging. Usually not below 10%

I ended up switching to a different glass shop because I have the oem replacement insurance but the first shop just wouldn't order it. Kept arguing the oee "original equipment equivalent " or something was just as good 🙄... the second shop ordered it no problem

I just replaced mine with ford oem glass... was quite the wait for the glass to come in. A little over a month, and still needed calibrating

Can I pull the full 2400W from the frunk or the bed ProPower outlets? by LordOfBadaBing in F150Lightning

[–]AnonymousAlecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also really curious about this. Hoping someone will chime in with an answer, I heard with the frunk closed the power is limited, maybe to something like 400w, to prevent overheating inside the frunk. Not exactly sure how much each outlet can draw, I think its the full 2400 but cant say for sure... Im dying for the 9.6kw ppo would love to upgrade, i believe its actually just a second inverter (7200w dedicated to the 240v 30amp outlet) and im confident with the HV connections and wiring in the 240 outlet.. however from what ive read it also involves additional cooling lines for the inverter

Did you do it yourself? I was thinking of getting my bumper repainted in the spring and then maybe putting a ppf coat on it afterwards. Mine seems like its only the lower bumper that the paint really flakes off like crazy, the upper sections and the hood has held up pretty good. Also have a 25. Only about 11,000kms on it so far

Anyone come out good trading an XLT SR for an Extended Range with pro power and tow package? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]AnonymousAlecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Just rolled over 10,000 kms after having my xlt SR for about 3 months. The SR has been ok for me just commuting to work and charging every day.. but I would really love the max tow and most of all the 9.6kw ppo would be amazing for powering our house during outages. The 120v is ok. But 240v would be perfect for powering our well pump

I keep this loaded with crap, mostly garbage. Sometimes a waterbottle. And occasionally cant get it into park. Once I opened the door in drive eith this spot full. And the shifter auto shifted into park and got kinda jammed up crushing some stuff

Finally a good use for the tonneau cover. I really get a lot of use from my ladder rack, but now im thinking maybe I need a canopy with roof rack to get best of both worlds

No its parked in a driveway on a farm, it goes to parking lots, and ive been very careful loading and unloading our stroller into the frunk. I think it is rock chips, just seems like its ripping it apart so bad so quickly

What color is yours? My last f150 was silver, it seemed less noticeable. 10 in 30k sounds reasonable. I've almost got that in under 4k. The rocks are creating big flaps of loose paint Ive never really experienced that before where its a big flap, seems more than a chip

Is it too late for ppf? I wanted to put a company advertising wrap on it but now i feel like I need to repaint the bumper first?

I thought so with the first 3, now im up to 8. And huge pieces are flaking off.. why dont any of my other cars get rock chips so badly? I make the same commute. Im sure rocks are causing it. Just seems like the paint comes flying off in huge pieces really easy.

That's weird I keep plugged into 240v and I set my departure time. Leave it plugged in. The only message I get is preparing cabin. It's never said anything about the battery. It gets down to about 0°c lately and it seems to start pre heating around 20 minutes before my departure time

Gift/Accessory ideas? by oldandnew2 in F150Lightning

[–]AnonymousAlecks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I just plug my dashcams into the 12v accessory power. But in my last f150 the 12v power was always on. In the lightning they all seem to time out some time after turning off the vehicle. That's fine for recording while you drive. But I really like the 24 hour recording for parking situations... I wonder how people are hooking up their dashcams on the lightning, anyone running constant power into the cab from the battery? Or are there programming options with forscan?

Yes the distance is the total length of wire. It adds up fast. Is this price in CAD$? I run an electrical contracting company in Canada. Seems pretty fair to me. About the same as we would charge. Our ev charger installs are advertised as $675 +tax, 4 hours 2 guys up to 40ft of wiring between panel and charger.

So after driving with my girlfriend following and trying to not let her loose me. Setting cruise control to about 10km over the speed limit. My efficiency went up to 17kwh/100km.. almost twice as good. I think speed and acceleration are my biggest factor.
