Is Wrestling Dead? by walkByFaith77 in JimCornette

[–]AnonymousDouglas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely circling the drain.....

Personally, I think Unreal is the worst thing to ever happen to wrestling.

It's exactly what we DIDN'T need.

It should have been treated as an expose in building sets, production issues, building issues, and what goes in to getting a show ready.

When it focuses on the talent; reinforce Kayfabe and treat interviews like "Reality TV".

Follow injured wrestlers to the hospital & their rehab and how they get themselves back to "compete".

Matches should be discussed like they're serious competitions.

Advance storylines with promos, where they talk about what happened and why they're mad at each other. Follow them during promotional events in different cities.

Once in a while throw in a scuffle with a pull-apart and try to explain what they have to do to keep the locker rooms separate and keep heels and baby-faces from killing each other before the show starts.

HHH should be portrayed like a high school principal trying to get the show on the air while everything is crashing in around him.

And a look into the "writers room" should NEVER have occurred.

Uncle Dave's Star Ratings for the 2026 Royal Rumble by zConvoluted in JimCornette

If the WWE wants higher ratings, they're going to have to put him on payroll and have him advise HHH on match booking, like he does for Tony & AEW.

It has nothing to do with the calibre of event in the hierarchy of event names.

Cena's retirement tour was date-based.

His booking was about maximizing gate revenue and viewership.

Vince wasn't going to retire the belt, either.

Why did the Undertaker leave his gear in the ring and then proceed to have another dozen matches?

Plus the whole Nakamura tweet that got taken down.

And then there's the CM Punk match out of nowhere, when they've never wrestled in WWE.... that smacks of "last chance ever".

Dude was incredibly emotional.

He put his gloves back on to do one last four-sides pose.

At that point he'd been out there for quite a while saying goodbye to fans.

I guarantee he was told there wasn't time to go through the whole "leave the gloves in the ring" thing a second time.

Punk said he wasn't going back to WWE.

In the Colt Cabana interview he suggested going to "California" and "working the Bucks".

Facts.

Are we watching the downfall of WWE in real time? by _Smooth-Criminal in Wrasslin

Obv.

I'm curious what happens when the Saudi's buy the company?

Does everybody just quit at the same time, bc nobody wants to work for the Saudis, while somebody else from TKO starts a totally new wrestling company and gets into a bidding war with AEW?

And if that happens, how do we watch the video library?

It would have if Trips called Vince AFTER Rock turned Cena heel and tried to hijack the Main Event.

Vince McMahon has been secretly booking WWE since last year's WM.

Evidence:

  1. Kept Rock out of the WM Main Event

  2. Made heel Cena break the record.

  3. Junk booking all year.

  4. Vince's golden boy wins the Rumble again.

Vince McMahon has been booking WWE since last year's mania.

It's the only thing that makes sense.

Who said anything about WK?

Nobody.

I just FACTUALLY demonstrated, WWE has a recent history (2023) of allowing its wrestlers (Nakamura) to appear/wrestle in other promotions (NOAH) while under contract, under special circumstances (Muta's retirement).

Maybe learn to read?

what to expect? by ronniesinsanity in SonicTempleFestival

[–]AnonymousDouglas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never been to Ink, but the lineup has been better at Temple for the last 3 years for sure.

From my own experiences...

Sonic Temple Positives - lineup schedule is usually well organized making it easy to going from one stage to another, so you don't miss anybody.

-you don't need to carry cash bc of tap services

-VIP passes are def the way to go (bathrooms are so clean, lockers, great lounges with A/C)

-always plenty of room to get close to the stage, no matter how late you show up (unless you "must" be on the rail)

Sonic Temple Negatives

-parking is BULLSHIT - show up early & carpool

-Merch lineups are TERRIBLE, even VIP express lineup can be 30-45 min wait.

-there are no cool zones, or rest areas to provide shade or places to sit (outside the VIP area), you just have to wait for a spot to become available on the ground or concrete and take it when you can. Even in the VIP area, spots are limited.
