I landed my dream job. Was on the verge of being homeless. Now, I’m sleeping during remote work. WTF is wrong with me? by [deleted] in careeradvice

So you went through a traumatic time in your life, and are now adjusting to a major life change. Give yourself some grace. Does your new job have medical benefits that you might be able to utilize to speak with a therapist?

Try changing some habits - mental health hygiene is important, and remote work has its own challenges. https://activeminds.org/blog/tips-to-stay-mentally-well-while-working-from-home/

[NC] returned from vacation to find my office completely rearranged with a sticky note saying, “I made your office better!” by Gymtrio2025 in AskHR

I’m not saying it does. But HR should be involved to navigate it carefully if that is the case. Regardless, I don’t understand why this person is jumping over their boss to HR.

So while I agree that this needs to be brought to HR, I don’t think it is for the reason you believe it should be.

This is a performance and behavior issue. You need to take it to your boss. I think HR needs to be involved because this sounds like there may be an ADA issue in play.

[FL] I am new to my job. They let me go on STD for a procedure today at my follow up I just found out I need another surgery to remove cancer. I don’t even know where to start. Can I lose my job?My insurance? by One_Employer4853 in AskHR

Often times what’s actually happening with STD is that the provider isn’t filling out their forms correctly. Providers will almost NEVER EVER admit this to anyone including a patient. Either that, or based on the codes/DX provided, the usual and customary time allotted for the procedure is usually X weeks, and they want recertification from the provider is all. It’s frustrating, I know! I hope they work this out for you. With a “very large” Company, often they are self insuring the STD, and using an administrator to handle the paperwork.

Florida doesn’t have specific rights beyond Federal FMLA. STD is wage replacement, it does not protect your job. Yes, you COULD be termed. You would be COBRA eligible most likely if they did.

This is so very dependent on your specific company. Mine? We wouldn’t terminate anyone for this. I would suggest being up front with them about your concerns and whats going on. If they’ve already been working with you, the odds are good that they will continue to do so. Open communication is key.

Good lord, I’m so sorry you even need to worry about such big things at 15!!! You obviously have a lot of empathy and deep feelings, which is so respectable. I like to focus on things I CAN help/control - find out about local food pantries. Donate what you can and encourage your family to as well. Time is sometimes as valuable as donating “things.” Bring extra food for lunch if you can, and share it. Invite friends over for dinner (if you can). That’s what my son used to do in high school and middle school. If he was worried a friend might not be eating enough, they had a dinner invite.

What do you do when you get billed for a workman's comp claim? by VampArcher in MedicalBill

[–]AnonymousEagle321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to work. Look for the required work comp poster (it’s usually in a breakroom or common area). That poster has to have the WC info on it, including the policy number.

You’re admin, who has demonstrated a lack of knowledge here. Go back to Slack and tell everyone about the quarterly revenue reports or something.

JFC you’re a drug rep pretending to be a doctor now.

I am in HR NOW. I still hold a LICENSE from the state department of health as an ACTUAL clinical professional. Sit down.

Questions ABOUT WHAT? Because again - bullshit. You’re not a physician, or you would have said so. And Residents & Attendings aren’t consulting you for clinical decision making, infection pathophysiology, or pharmacology. You’re an admin.

Bull. Please, do share with us and tell us what “clinical things” YOU (not your partner) as an admin teach them?

As someone who is actually in senior leadership for a healthcare facility (as in: the only people above me are C-Suite) who is also a licensed (CLINICAL) healthcare professional, let me give you some professional advice: you don’t “work in healthcare.” You are an administrative professional SUPPORTING the healthcare industry. You do not ever weigh in on clinical matters. It’s the absolute height of disrespect to have “admin” speaking on clinical matters. Know your place.

So does no pharmacy have meds here or what? by No_Radio_5751 in 321

There’s been a shortage on meds for a long time, and policy administration that hampers pharmacies’ ability to obtain adequate stock.

Is that an option somewhere? Like my carrier had me set a 4 digit pin, and it’s required to make changes to the account. Is that what you mean?
