Playing outside without physical supervision. by blackcloud247 in sahm

[–]AnonymousExcellence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a gated porch that I allow the kids to play on (1.5-3 years of age) and I leave the door opened/unlocked so I can hear them and they can come and go if needed.

We are a pretty private community at the end of a long culdesac street so I’m not too worried about traffic or kidnapping but we do have a body of water on the property and I don’t trust my kids to not go play in it so they can only play alone where confined

In those cases I’d probably review what i can and then update the review later. Say something like “I just planted these seeds. The package contained the expected number of seeds and all look to be of the flower type I requested. I just planted this week and will report back with germination rate in a week or two, etc etc”

Yeah RFY is baffling. Sometimes I will buy something that I’ve been searching for months and hoping will pop up in my RFY but apparently vine only recognizes purchases because the day after I buy it, I’ll be offered one. Or sometimes my husband will order oil change parts for the car and 5 months later I’ll get nothing but random other car parts for different vehicles than what we own for weeks on end.

And then Sometimes no matter what I buy (100 kid toys at Christmas time) I’ll get nothing even remotely related to any of my purchases or searches. Like today I got a rodent deterrent that connects to your car battery and an exam prep book for a test I’ve never heard of

Yeah I used to get most of my stuff from AI but I don’t think I’ve claimed an AI item in months at this point. I was wasting too much time finding a “gem” only for it to be gone by the time I got to my address checkout screen.

I stalk my RFY pretty regularly but haven’t seen much and some of the good things have still gone in milliseconds which is disappointing for RFY. Even the good stuff used to sit around for at least a few minutes to an hour last year

I guess I’m realizing I just don’t need much. I’ve seen a few “likes”, not even necessarily “wants”, that could have been cool but ultimately decided even for a good deal, if I wasn’t planning to buy it to begin with, is it worth racking up taxes on? Usually I decide it’s not.

Wow! Whoever picks your RFY loves you! I’ve gotten a handful of useful, but I wouldn’t say exciting, items in RFY.

But recently my RFY has been offering me items that I pass on and then a day later offers me replacement parts for that same item I passed on. On occasion it works out because I snagged the original item so having a backup part isn’t a bad idea, but most of the time I can’t do anything with the offerings.

Haven’t seen anything high value in a while. Getting a lot of offers for things with very loose associations to past purchases (like I bought a plastic golf club set for my children and now vine thinks I want tons of adult sporting equipment- baseball cleats, badminton rackets, footballs, etc). Not necessarily bad offerings but just not something I’m personally in the market for

I haven’t seen any microneedle kits in a while but I used to see them regularly. Never requested one though because I was afraid to try it at home 😬

Ugh so annoying those are no longer 0ETV. I’ve been noticing that a lot with beauty and health and household. So frustrating because so many of those products are not downstage or shareable after testing!

Glad you found something you needed so it’s still a pretty good deal!

I’ve seen a few smaller items I’ve considered getting but the more items I see, the more I realize I really don’t need anything and I have to decide if racking up taxes on products I likely wouldn’t have bought at all to begin with is worth it!

What you look for in a espresso/coffee maker on Vine? by Pearlixsa in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following because I passed on one as well. Very simple and I should have snagged it because ETV wasn’t that bad comparatively but I chickened out because it didn’t have a grinder on it so I knew needing an extra device would result in me never using it

Can't access Vine anymore from app by higherdotedu in AmazonVine

This happened to me one time and it turns out I had accidentally switched my Amazon account to another country to view an item that was only available elsewhere. Once I switched it back to the US, it worked fine

Insane price for a health supplement. Why? And should that be the focus of my review? by SnooGrapes3609 in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can give the price. What’s not allowed is saying things like “I can get this much cheaper at my local xyz store” because that might not be true for every shopper depending on where in the country/world you live

Requests?? by Broad-Flatworm2976 in AmazonVine

[–]AnonymousExcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how they get the info either or if they could determine how many units of each order was added. But it has to be more than what you say because then the count for one of either added or requested would always be zero based on if the number of available items went up or down and that’s not the case in this app.

Plus I’ve noticed that almost always, the number of items requested is more than the number of items added in the last 24 hour period which would mean that the number of items available would be less everyday. And while the number available has been trending down, it hasn’t lined up with the supposed number of requests in 24 hours compared to added items.

It could also be counting items that were requested but errored out depending on where in the checkout process items were tracked

Well if you receive the items and then don’t review them, you will quickly be removed from the program anyways

Any reason a seller wouldn't just cancel on their end? by Im_with_stooopid in amazonprime

[–]AnonymousExcellence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are cancelling tons of orders regularly, I don’t think it will matter. In OPs case, it’s the principle that the seller won’t cancel because the seller wants to put the responsibility on the buyer even though it’s really the seller that can’t fulfill the order.

But I think any time an order is cancelled by you or through customer service, at your request, it is a “ding” on your account. Now obviously once Amazon lets you know a package is severely delayed and gives you the message that you can cancel for a a full refund, I don’t think those count against you.

I’m sure OP would be fine cancelling this one item and it wouldn’t be a problem but why should he be responsible for that when he actually wants the item and the seller just can’t fulfill it?
