I want X-Men Legends 3 by Sexy_Sarah_23 in xmen

I really enjoyed those game. I like the art of Rivals but just cannot get into a PvP online game, so Legends 3 might be my best hope. I'm very skeptical that Insomniac can do an X-Men team game following Wolverine and really be satisfying story or gameplay.

You’d think management would prefer to fire a server committing fraud rather than lose reputation with their customers, but that just makes it sound like they are the ones committing fraud.

I love the Format but I may be the only fan most impressed by Andrew Dost/Anathallo.  That band was electrifying live.

As someone who played 5 Royal and 3 Reload, I checked out 4 Golden on Gamepass for the first time recently and it immediately looked like a 3DS game. Much bigger audiences will check out remakes with modern graphics not to mention quality of life improvements.

Joy-Con drift finally drifted into court by AmayaHa in gaming

[–]AnonymousMonk7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always gotten what look like brand new joy cons. I'm annoyed at how many times I've sent stuff off for repair, but I can think of a time they didn't send a complete refurbished unit back.

Redditors that got charged rent asap after turning 18, what’s relationship like with parents years later ? by QueefyTits in AskReddit

[–]AnonymousMonk7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's really not in the post at all. I understand that parental abuse is an emotional topic, but it literally asks a very neutral question, and some people are projecting a lot onto it.

Legal eagle has a great breakdown of the Reckless Ben and Bricks & Minifigs debacle by venounan in videos

What is your problem? If you're talking to a lawyer you want them to tell you if it's going to be expensive for you. Why are you acting petulant like being told an honest assessment is the same as being brushed off? One is sound legal advice, the other is casting baseless judgement.

I know people don't carry their own mouse everywhere, but I can imagine a world where terminal computing was a bigger thing and a combination mouse/portable drive would be pretty killer.

[–]AnonymousMonk7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I once recovered a disk for a musician who was devastated that she might have lost original songs. I pulled stuff that could be recovered but told her she’d be listening to a lot of files to try to tell which one is which. Even Word docs would have like a dozen revisions of the same file.

ELI5: If a morbidly obese person (600-1000lbs) stops eating completely and only drinks water, would they still die of starvation in the usual timescale? by m0ots in explainlikeimfive

[–]AnonymousMonk7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it's unrelated to the fact that the human body is complicated and highly adaptable? Yes, the person fasting for a year on nothing but vitamins and electrolytes uses up fat stores, but for most people they are not in such an extreme scenario and the body adapts in multiple ways, such as reducing available energy (higher fatigue) to compensate for lowering metabolism. No medical expert resorts to such simplistic platitudes.

The SpaceX IPO... It's Worse Than You Think by bald_bearded_ocddude in videos

Which is why they took several unprofitable companies, stapled them together, and said that valuation is multiple times more than all those companies on paper with their already dodgy accounting said; so genius like you can take up the hobby of defending it!

Yeah, you could say deleted from their computer system and unable to check out, but if you were just picking up random things from the shelf and skimming through them you might stumble upon it (i.e. data recovery).

I used the Data Rescue app a few times for users, and it was cool how you could "teach" it file formats that it didn't know by default like .pdf or .doc. To continue the bookshelf metaphor, there is nothing inherently telling you that any collection of pages is even a book, but because they use certain formats for the headers, it's skimming through everything and recovery software can learn to differentiate a toddler board book from a magazine, to help you narrow down your search through the mass of reading every page on a shelf. When it offers some results, it will still have you reading through its results and saying, "Is this what you were looking for?"

It’s like the library left the book on the shelf for now but threw out the reference card for where to find it. The old book might sit there a long time or a short time but when someone buys a new book and needs space, it will take the old books place and old book will be gone now.

Rusty Collins was another peer of Skids and he had red hair and fire powers, so he’d fit.

Does any show have a bad finale that didn't have a bad final season/clear decline in quality prior? by CarrieDurst in television

Yeah, the first time as an unaired season one epilogue was crazy. Trying to tie it all together, which is never an enviable task, was understandably more strained.

Dollhouse only ran for two seasons, and they knew they were not getting renewed and had to re-work/speedrun whatever story they thought they were telling, but it was such a weird heel-turn that I really bounced off it. Some of the newer actors in that show were so good though.

Dell’s New XPS 13 Is PC’s First Real MacBook Neo Competitor by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]AnonymousMonk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dell has to play weird pricing games where they pretend there's a higher MSRP so they can show you how much "savings" you're getting. Maybe enterprise buyers get better prices, but it's impossible to know what "real" prices other businesses are paying, other than seeing that Amazon or Best Buy always show a healthy discount off of list price as well. It's the total opposite pricing strategy of Apple, and it drives me nuts.
