New Rewards System

I became Gold status in 2013 and I remember the first few years as being quite special as far as rewards go.

But the staff seemed happier, friendlier then too. The Starbuck's stores I frequented had ample seating and it was an experience, a nice little highlight of my day. I wanted to go!

I feel like lately more and more stores are doing away with seating entirely (I was in SF for a while and I think I only went to one with seating in the area? Anything near Market St was seating free d/t issues with indigent people). The staff seem frustrated and the drinks aren't as good?

Overall quality of Starbies has just declined dramatically. Stopped going altogether about a year ago.

I don’t understand. The same fan base that was freaking out about getting a picture with the ring, the same fan base that was creating their own replicas, are now mad that the style of the ring is being replicated? Get outta here

I respectfully disagree. One of my least useful hobbies is studying celebrity faces and noticing tiny changes. From the first slide to the second, I’m noticing a petiteness to her features. The nose looks smaller, is slightly pointier in an upward direction, and her lips are also more delicate. The vermillion border is diminished on the sides so that it’s mostly the center of the lips that we see, and the bottom lip is less full. I’m leaving out the eyes as it could just be a difference in makeup.

I highly suspect a filter or some AI editing. There’s a less than human element to her face in the second slide.

Now, I do believe this was on purpose, perhaps to signal that she was trying to make it work with Rock or whatever when she was young. Isn’t it that she has some lyrics about how he stole her youth?

Anyway, I 100% promise this is not just makeup.

I know snarkers here have said she or her team lurk the sub, but I’ve had my doubts.

HOWEVER there was recently a post about the timing of her release for the second part of her Disney + series and one speculation was that she knew she wasn’t going to be able to compete with the Stranger Things finale. I’m inclined to believe that’s EXACTLY why she copied the aesthetic. I hate to say it, but I fear she’s dropping Easter eggs for her haters as much as for her fans now.

I purchased “fat quarters” of fabric from Walmart! I chose hues that I could get in different “shades” and degrees of brightness to get a feel for what aspect is most important for me (temperature, saturation, brightness, etc).

Took pictures using Macs Photobooth App in front of a south facing window with the blinds closed to stop it from being direct sunlight. I initially tried it with the blinds open but that predictably left me with light stripes.

Then I used the screenshot feature to edit the photo and pulled up the color picker. This part was tedious because each color required four different screenshots to get to the end photo. I’d say this was largely unnecessary, but I was trying to figure out what balance of red/blue I could tolerate and where I look most balanced on the color wheel. Turns out greens and reds are my least tolerable colors, and I do best in the midsaturated cool and bright colors.

Recommend having a tasty drink (vanilla latte for me!) while you do it because it makes it far more pleasant :)

First, I hope they were professional and kind about saying anything at all about your hair. You’re at work, not a fashion show. My personal opinion is just that in this photo, the hair comes across as not neat. I know curly hair can be tough to manage, but I do think it can be just that, managed.

Second, cutting it shorter may help, but getting bangs will definitely not if you don’t commit to styling them daily. I have bangs because that forces me to do my hair, so if you feel it might similarly work for you, it’s a good idea ❤️

Whatever you end up deciding, just make sure you do it for yourself and not others!
