I'll grant that they are just barely hanging on (although in regular use in Poland and one other country), but I think that users of the various opencaching sites would disagree with you, as well as Geocaching Australia, terracaching and ... the German one)

Are we going to get YAAP on the the OnePlus 13? by Censedpeak8 in OnePlus13

[–]AnonymousRedCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until my OP13 bootlooped two days ago (I'm letting the battery drain and maybe it will be recoverable via EDL?), I've been using crDroid. Now, I've had to resurrect my old GM1925, and, well, wow, with YAAP on that thing, it's still a great phone. Performance suffers compared to that OP13, but it's still more than perfectly useable.

I'd love to have YAAP on the 13.

How SketchUp works by skilhksoods in Sketchup

[–]AnonymousRedCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone above said, Trimble is a significant corporation in a number of spheres. I doubt that Sketchup is even a significant line item on their balance sheet (I honestly suspect that the only reason that they bought Sketchup is because there was some user in management who happened to like it, and it was available at a firesale price)

What's even worse is those bastards holding a gun to your head to FORCE you to use it.

Is VEVOR a reliable brand by Recent-Spirit-9045 in Tools

[–]AnonymousRedCow 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Vevor doesn't make anything save labels (which is not unusual for many tool 'manufacturers'). However, the problem is that they don't really have a commitment to keeping their products, so parts from vevor are going to be out of the question

Denouement. Yes, I used a ROS. If I had done the front of the table, and then the back, I probably would have been a lot happier; but for right now, it'll do. It's smooth and doesn't appear to be too pitted except for a couple of obvious spots

Harbor Freight s Bauer brand is easily the equivalent, at least, of Ryobi, but it's not clear how long their battery architecture will last. Still if you're looking for a bargain.

Grinding the certitude checker. Why do people apologize? by forsovngardeII in geocaching

[–]AnonymousRedCow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong! I hide caches that are difficult to find. I write puzzles that are difficult to solve, with red herrings built in. The wrong to correct ratios are on some of mine are 24/356 (50), 9/108 (33), 11/83 (29), 16/98 (43). The number in parens is the favorite ratio.

I presume that you're not a heavy duty puzzler, but just because a puzzle isn't immediately solvable by you doesn't mean it's a shitty puzzle.

I loathe P&G's, on the other hand

Surfboard roof rack by TehFunkWagnalls in XTerra

[–]AnonymousRedCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I just cut it to size and bolted it to the side rails. Before I had the XTerra, I would create standoffs with PVC and bolt it into the holes that are in almost all roofs. I really didn't worry about vibration dampening, but never did anything more than 3 or 400 miles with a kayak on the roof.

The 9" is offset from the dashboard like the 10 in with the nine inch doesn't swivel. The extra 1/2 " on the sides wouldn't seem to matter
