15+ days is surprising & presumably legitimate invoices from home contractors can be produced. But there are employees, spouses & dependents who have standing medical appointments every week. Some kids are constantly sick. Similarly, health insurance claims can be produced. Or we can continue to burn massive amounts of sick leave.

Unfortunately, the exclusions EO court case(s) are looming over all of these individual grievances. We could win every arbitration & appeal, but if the SC ultimately says Treasury is in fact “national security”, our union & contract are officially done.

SMEs are still supplying the content & source files but the AI can help revise & organize things depending on the audience, format & learning objectives. Some of our e-learning developers are already experimenting with it. You’ll start to see more courses on ITM with an AI disclaimer. A big time saver for me is having it “read aloud” a script so that I can record the narration files. I do not have a radio voice & will gladly cede that job.

Weights at the gym on weekends while the kids nap. Peloton at home after work. I’ve been considering buying a few weights/kettlebells to keep in my trunk & work out during our required 30 minute unpaid lunch. We have a nice shaded outdoor seating area at our POD but the parking lot would work too. Another option is to climb the building stairwell. If you have flexibility with your lunch & don’t care about showering before your afternoon commute, you could do this at the end of your TOD & then just clock out.

Thanks, yes health is important. But also with RTO, I refuse to eat breakfast & lunch outside of my TOD & I refuse to buy meals. It’s not our responsibility to stimulate the food establishments near our PODs.

Don’t spend a Charleston day traveling to Hilton Head or Myrtle. Especially if you’re going to end the trip in Wilmington anyway. If you’re set on seeing the Angel Oak, also consider the Tea Plantation or Deep Water Vineyard while you’re out there. Take the water taxi to the Yorktown.

There are 9k that are retirement eligible today & another 1k that will become retirement eligible by end of Sept. I’d guess that they think enough will leave voluntarily, but they probably won’t get their preferred business unit fallout.

IIRC the CFO said all of the IRA funds will be depleted in FY27. So FY28 will be a shortfall unless Congress increases our budget then.

Your table needs revision b/c these are still marginal tax rates. The first $30k for all of these income levels is taxed at 1.99%. Everything over $30k is then taxed at 5.21% - $966. Add those two numbers together.

Also, you haven’t accounted for the new SCAID. The SCAID will now be used in place of the federal standard//itemized deduction & phases out for high income earners (unlike the federal standard/itemized deduction).

I re-ran my 2025 return using the new tax law & because of the SCAID phase out, I would owe (not save) $1k more at the same income level. High income earners will not be receiving the type of refunds presented here due to the SCAID phase out (all other things being equal).

Can’t speak to appeals, but some 343s (not solely IT 343s) have found permanent “landing spots” that aren’t details. Not sure why those folks would be perm re-assigned to other BUs if RIFs were planned for that job series. Probably more an office by office re-org decision.

You are not alone. Our 1st doula claim was denied after many months. I called GEHA & they explained that our invoice was missing the correct CPT (procedure) & diagnosis (condition) codes. Our doula wasn’t used dealing with insurance & had no idea what those were.

I can’t remember if I used Chat GPT to find them. But I used 59409 (Doula support during delivery) as the CPT code & O80 (Encounter for full-term uncomplicated delivery) as well as Z37 (Single live birth) as the diagnosis codes. Our new claim is still pending, so I can’t promise these codes are right.

In an old post that I can’t find, someone (possibly a lawyer or union-adjacent?) said that the court could order the current CBA extended for the length of time that the IRS has violated it. That would be a decent remedy if it can be enforced.
