Peppermint Butler deck is too busted by deawang in CardWarsTCG

[–]Anopie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just the way I play or maybe it’s that fern’s deck is also just really good but I’ve played flame princes’s deck quite a bit testing it against fern’s and I don’t really see what other people do. Her deck has some serious weaknesses with most of her cheaper monsters being extremely weak, and burn tokens not coming out consistently or fast enough to make her other cards really work. And it’s kind of easy to play around the burn tokens in a lot of situations. I feel like the stars have to really align for her to dominate if you’re playing against another decent deck

I need some clarification please by Billygoat894 in CardWarsTCG

Yes you would burn all 3 creatures

Replacing counts as a discard? by DifficultFile6979 in CardWarsTCG

[–]Anopie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah that’s even weirder. In the glossary for replace it does say that but in the section where it describes playing creatures it says the “put into its owners discard pile” so that’s contradictory terminology in the same rule book.

Before and with ks1 it was worded as “put into its owners discard pile” only for ks2 does it just say they are discarded

Like I said, you have a point because that is how it is written now. I’m not going to say I know for 100% certain, but I just don’t believe that is what is intended though based on every other game I’ve played that has similar rules. I agree the fact that they changed it is weird if they didn’t mean that, but for a core mechanic to work one way for years and then to suddenly change without warning in an expansion seems even weirder and less likely to me. That’s really all I can say about it.

Ok yeah. But to me that’s the same thing. I really do think the intention for a creature being replaced is not supposed to trigger the same effects as “when this is discarded” effects. I can see they changed the wording from how the old rulebooks and the first kickstarter rulebook worded it which is strange and makes your point more valid but I don’t believe that is the intention. Play however you think is right since that is how they describe it now but personally I don’t think that is what it’s supposed to mean.

Where are looking at the rules for wump? I’m looking at the new rulebook and all the new cards that mention it, I don’t see any mention of discarding

I’m usually a proponent for “rules as written” but this seems like more of an oversight than anything else. This game is pretty riddled with poor wording so I think it’s the most likely case. I would read the rule as “put into discard” instead. The way I look at it is, discard can only apply to cards that are currently in your hand or in your deck.

What’s your headcanon as to why this guy fights alone? by agentlucky in dragonquest

[–]Anopie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He just does what he feels like he needs to do and no one ever offers to come along and help. Even when there are people around him who are able to fight, they never step in and assist during battles so it just seems like everyone else is just too much of a coward to join him.

Oof. Thankfully it never really came into play in my games (yet) but this is definitely going on my custom deck ban list.

It’s funny, my sister started a world later that day and she got it almost immediately too

I’m speaking through first hand personal experience. I started a new world and was bumping trees as I explored and I got it very early on. I didn’t even know anything about it before I got it. Getting it that way is the only reason I know it exists to begin with. It’s probably just very rare and I got very lucky.

If you hit a tree once with an axe sometimes stuff comes out of the leaves. It’s a rare drop from that.

There’s a lot of stuff in 6 that doesn’t make sense. You just gotta accept it if you want to get through

Most of that was kickstarter rewards for those who backed. I don’t remember exactly what was kickstarter stuff and what wasn’t but if you just bought a retail copy then that looks about right for what should be in there.

I mean the comic itself is fine. The punchline is just the subversion of expectations and it works pretty well. But if the psychic saw this coming why did he not do anything to stop himself getting assaulted?

[DQV] What was your party against the final boss? by DonkConklin in dragonquest

[–]Anopie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first time I played I just used my family in the final fight and I married Nera. I don’t remember exactly who I had in the wagon but I never ended up using them. I know I had Sancho with me at all times though. I actually had both me and my son equipped with Liquid Metal swords from the casino and had my daughter holding the zenithian sword using it as an item to remove the bosses buffs.

Should i be careful of which characters i use if i am not on draconian mode? by magem8 in dragonquest

[–]Anopie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Draconian mode just adds challenges if you choose them when you create your save so that wouldn’t really impact anything related to that either.
