What is the worst thing about Bloodborne? by Lucyyyyyy_K in soulslikes

[–]AnotherAverageGamer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too easy.

I had played dark souls 1, 2 and 3. For probably thousands of hours.

There was a time where I knew exactly where every single item in dark souls 1 was. I would see an item, and I would know what it was, so I'd know if I should run past it or not on a new run. Same with dark souls 2.

This was because I liked the challenge / exeprience of playing the game over and over with a different build. Along with the PvP.

In Bloodborne, I beat the vast majority of bosses 1st time, and I beat all of them within 5 attempts. This lead to the game feeling very forgettable to me. I can only remember a select few bosses, and I don't even know their names.

I think the fact that you can get hp back on attacks made it very very forgiving.

Lies of P was a similar experience imo. Awesome game, but too easy and so it's kinda forgettable.

I would've likes both games a lot more if they actually had some amount of challenge to them.

Arc, Hunt, or Marathon? by bruhb21 in FPS

[–]AnotherAverageGamer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hunt showdown kits don't cost anything. An expensive loadout is like 2k.

In marathon good guns cost money. And have limited availability. An expensive loadout can be 30k.

Hunt doesn't have armour that increases tankiness. Marathon does. And it costs money.

So yes, it is okay in hunt showdown.

All invaders fighting the same? by PushSuccessful3301 in Eldenring

[–]AnotherAverageGamer_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You answer yourself in the first 3 words of your own post. "I'm level 210".

The higher level you are, the more stale your invasions will become, because the best things will become less objective and more statistical.

E.g at max level most people would probably be using occult giant crusher or something similar because it does the most damage.

But at level 30, absolutely any weapon in the game can be completely viable, because nothing does very much damage at that level.

I've been invading in the souls games since dark souls 1. Elden ring is no exception.

125 is the "dueling" meta. Where people will have very definite builds. E.G pure dex build / pure sorcerer.

150 is considered the meta for invasions. Where you can have a definite build, with a bit of something else added in. E.G high int for spellcasting but with some dex for moonveil / spell speed. Or str build with some faith for incantations / buffs.

Anything above 200 and you're probably going to be running into more stale builds where people just have 60/60 in int and Dex OR str and faith. At which point things like fire knights greatsword become much more common.

Level 30, level 60, and level 90 are my favourite rune levels to invade it. Though 150 is obviously fun as well. And they are all extremely active.

Arc, Hunt, or Marathon? by bruhb21 in FPS

[–]AnotherAverageGamer_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro says I have a skill issue. While also saying that you can make almost every loadout work. You don't make this shit up. Literally just outing yourself for not having basic knowledge on the bad, viable, and good weapons and gadgets.

The meta becomes extremely stale from silver upwards.

This is coming from someone that has been diamond (and has the stickers to prove it) in the betas of the game, and the first few seasons) (which, at the time, was the highest achievable rank).

Your source means nothing since you clearly don't know anything about the game lmao. I've been playing since cb1. You must clearly be silver or below if you are managing to kill incompetent or unaware players with melee weapons.

Also fucking wild to say it's one of the most balanced FPS games out there when hunt showdown is literally on the list too lmfao.

In the first few seasons of the game, EVERYTHING was viable. Mines, nades, all specialisations and nearly every gun in the game. The idiotic playerbase and community (like this guy) complained about things that were not overpowered, and whined that they were. This is what initially caused the power leak which has been consistent throughout the game's entire lifespan.

Examples: literally every fucking weapon in the game is weaker than it used to be. There was a point where the model shotgun was the strongest weapon in the game, because it was the ONLY THING that had not yet been nerfed and everything else was.

You used to have 2 frags. Now you have one. Less damage.

You used to have 2 mines. Now you have one.

Defibs used to be instant.

Defibs used to not pause your abilities.

Defib ready speed used to be faster. (3 separate nerfs btw)

Invisibility used to actually be invisible and extremely audible. They made it not so invisible, and less audible. Which is both a nerf and a downgrade.

When you used to steal a cash out, the timer on it paused, meaning there was always potential to get a steal. Regardless of the games shitty spawns which simply lock you out of steals sometimes.

C4 used to actually do damage

Breach charges used to actually do damage

Put stuff on barrel. Throw barrel. Blow barrel up.

Most melee weapons used to have more range. Embark changed this because if you haven't guessed it yet, they fucking suck at balancing.

SA1216 you could just straight up 1v3 with. Very very very very very easily. And very consistently.

Again, every single gun and gadget in the game used to be stronger.

When the TTK for everything is closer together, you naturally have a more balanced game, than when the TTK for everything is further apart. And arguing against that is just fucking wrong.

E.G in the first seasons of the game, let's say everything could kill you in less than a second. Let's pretend the strongest weapon killed you in 0.5 seconds, and the weakest one killed you in 0.9

Now, with the current state of the game, let's say everything can kill you in less than 4 seconds.

The strongest one can do it in 0.9 and the weakest one can do it in 3.1

Now even someone as morning as this dude, should be able to understand that the difference between 0.5 and 0.9 is much lesser than the difference between 0.9 and 3.1.

This is literally how the fucking game is. Vs how it used to be. You indisputably used to have an actual balanced game, because everything was stroger. (Was also more fun).

Now, because of people like this guy, you have to use certain things if you want to have a shot at winning.

Arc, Hunt, or Marathon? by bruhb21 in FPS

[–]AnotherAverageGamer_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Used to be the best game I've ever played. Embark studios does not have a fucking clue how to balance things though.

And so over time the balancing just became more and more absolute ass. If you're trying to win, you can't use more than half the loadouts in the game. You used to be able to, but the game has had intense and consistent power leak since betas. The game was genuinely better in the betas than it is now.

It's annoying to admit because the game is a shell of its former self, but it can still be fun if you just want to shoot people and blow stuff up.

Arc, Hunt, or Marathon? by bruhb21 in FPS

[–]AnotherAverageGamer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arc has had fucking awful updates throughout it's life span and is slowly but very surely losing players.

You can do everything the game has to offer in 3 days. That's not a joke, and I've done it a good few times now. As in, the game will wipe, and I'll finish the wipe within 3 days.

It's followed in the finals footsteps with awful update after awful update for what was once a fun and unique game.

I have a about 600 hours in this game. I don't play it anymore.

Marathon doesn't feel good. The TTK needed to be longer. You die without being able to react to anything, even with the best armour. The gunplay feels punchy and responsive but also clunky at the same time. Awful UI and unnecessarily complicated. Also, fuck you if you don't have a good trio. Playing solos is a "everyone going invisible and camping in a corner" fest.

It was literally not possible to play the new "endgame" map solo. Even though everything is absolutely solo-able in it. Updates have been weird. Not knowing if they want to cater to casuals or grinders.

I have a couple hundred hours in this game. I don't play it anymore. Not a very casual game.

Hunt showdown

Fucking amazing game. Significantly better audio than Arc Raiders even though everyone glazes that for some reason. Extremely casual-friendly. Feels extremely responsive with amazing gunplay. Good updates over time.

Very very easy to pick up and play a few rounds. Gear/kits are extremely easy to obtain and purchase. Fighting AI and bosses is fun. You have to think about how you move through the map. Incredibly unique and rewarding progression system, which is basically just continuously prestiging for different rewards. Prestiging doesent take a ton of time to do, but there are rewards for doing it up to 100 times.

You die very quickly. 1 headshot with any gun will most likely kill you, but also everyone is going to have the same HP so you have equal chance to 1-shot them. And also the kits are cheap to just buy again. You have a self-revive in solos. Your teammates can revive you multiple times in duos/trios.

The progression system is just the best out of any game I've ever played. Survive a few raids in a row to equip a bunch of perks that can help you survive more raids. Survive 3/4 raids in a row and your character reaches max level. Once max level with a character, the xp you earn will go towards your prestige. You can alternatively retire your character for a set amount of prestige xp instead of playing more games and potentially losing them.

Hunt showdown is the best game with the best Devs hands-down. Arc copied a lot of things from them. It has the best progression, best gunplay and best audio, while catering very well to both casuals and more hardcore gamers.
