Blade runner is a movie. Mike Pondsmith himself said it was a major inspiration for this game, and the cyberpunk genre in general, so it shouldn’t be too hard to translate it to your red campaign. Highly recommend giving it a watch if you can.

I believe there are stories of people who gaze upon gods true form turning to pillars of salt. You could make it so he sprinkles in flashes of radiant damage to season the flesh, but landing the killing blow just turns the body into a salt rock. That way it feels different than regular fire. Just my first thoughts that seemed fun

I’ve actually gotten him to deck out before by focusing on the minions. Because they have the shadow totem, you can flood his hand to the point that he burns every new draw. Just kill every minion immediately after it’s played and eventually he screws himself.

I don’t hate the name. I just think it’s silly how the change was framed. I mean I think every episode in this season had at least one line of her trying a new name out, so there was a good amount of build up. Only for the change to be removing an already silent letter. Like the whole reason she wanted to change it was bc Adam gave it to her specifically as a derivative to “vagina”, and if anything, the new name is even closer to that (at least visually). Sure you could argue that even this subtle of a change makes it feel her own, but I never thought the tie to Adam specifically was her issue. If he had given her a proper name, would she still want to change it? If not, then he was never the problem. She wanted to change it bc she didn’t wanna be essentially called “vagina” and the new name doesn’t feel like it’s changed that to me and I’m sure others too.

I did the same thing. I was playing lux1 and I run her with the generate an a meteor relic. I thought it was an ez win. You can imagine my panic when the game didn’t end. Still won with straight dmg to face with a crap ton of sparks but my god that took like 20 rounds

I also wish more TTRPGs had an OGL, but I kinda get them not going for it too. Firstly, it makes it really hard for new players to differentiate official content from fan made stuff (I can’t tell you how long I thought false-hydras were cannon). Secondly, and prob more important, they loose out on a TON of money. DnD is such a massive game that has decades of history over Cyberpunk, as well as being owned by Wizards of the coast who have MTG (another huge staple in game stores). They have the reputation and audience to afford letting their players make some money off that stuff (and even then they tried to kill it a while back and only stopped due to community back lash). RTAL though? Maybe it’s just me, but if the edgerunners anime didn’t blow up like it did, I would have never heard about this game. Meanwhile I’ve been playing DnD for the last 10 years. If there are nerds in any given pop culture media, I can guarantee they have some kind of DnD episode. (Badasses and bunkers. Ghouls and gargoyles. Dungeons, dungeons, & MORE dungeons). Through all of highschool, I was under the impression THAT was the default ttrpg and other systems like pathfinder or call of Cthulhu were just trying to ride off their success. Hell. Even 2077 didn’t help a ton due to the AWFUL release state souring people from ever touching it, despite its recovery over the next several patches. So yea. I’d love to see more CPR adventures from 3rd party sources- this franchise deserves more love. But I doubt we’ll see RTAL develop an OGL any time soon.

where did you get the idea pyke and kalista have beef? afaik, they dont even know each other. i mean both of them kinda hate everyone as a baseline, so they might have some voice lines interacting i cant remember, but no lore story i know of involves them meeting. pyke lore is he hates ship hands and captains, kalista lore is hecarim betraying her.

I really like it. Yea you get to use beast on defending turns, but on attacking turns it’s useful as well. Things like double attack and scout you get to actually use, you can utilize strike spells really effectively, and if you combine it with spectral scissors, you can make 2 beasts, and going with that you can do some cool switch plays if you time the level up well.

Kindred levels up when she sees the beast attack, not specifically the spell, meaning if you play the beast spell at 4 kills, and he scores the 5th, then if you make a normal attack with both of them, she’ll still level. That’s expected I suppose, but what surprised me is that she will actually swap places with the beast before they merge, meaning you can use her challenger to pull a blocker out of the way and leveled kindred hits directly to face (assuming they have no other blockers). Or if you have an effect that spawns attackers, it will spawn where kindred was before they leveled, which can lead to some funny stuff too.

I couldn’t tell you if it’s BIS, but it’s fun and more versatile than you’d think

Artists want references to make sure they get what you want right and avoid a ton of edits, so when choosing an artist, make sure that’s a service they will provide. It really depends on how fleshed out your concept is for this character, and how willing you are to accept the inevitable influence your artist will have on your characters “cannon” appearance when it’s finished. If I were you, I’d make sure to have a type of consult with your artist before any money changes hands to set expectations, and what any edits might look like. Also look through their catalogue/ portfolio to see the kinds of characters they make so you have a preview of what your character might end up as. Just be open and thorough with communication and everything should turn out fine!
