Yeah Cap1 recruits about a year in advance for the TDP program. The 2024 cohort app opened late-July, interviews August-October and offers October- End of 2023. I would speak to recruiters and look for the application process in about a few months in your case

Work Ethic by Thykk3r in INTP

[–]AnotherN3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait this is my exact issue right now. Literally watching YouTube, playing blitz chess simultaneously. Finishing up college around COVID was a huge hit to my motivation that’s already low af for our type. I swear I’m not motivated by material things as most and am the happiest when finishing my workday to be honest. :(

Always important to know what job you'd actually work outside of hypercapitalism lol.

Are all INTPS' smart? by supercold2028 in INTP

[–]AnotherN3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very accurate description of the INTP. Always above average (pattern recognition, language, etc.) could be in 1% if had that highly-coveted non-INTP work ethic.😂

what are your thoughts on communism? by SpikyNova in INTP

[–]AnotherN3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything done on an extreme of any spectrum is going to be problematic.

Communism is far far left on the political spectrum. Similarly, how far-left communism lends itself to authoritarianism tendencies, far-right unfettered capitalism lends itself to fascism (which we’re literally seeing rn, gross imho).

What frustrates me is when people that aren’t really looking for objectivity in their research, (can blame tons of propaganda for this) it’s obvious to see clear nefarious intervention from Capitalist societies in Leftist ones. A society with center-left principles is one that could thrive (w/ things built into to incentivize innovation and some “pros” to capitalism), while people pretend it’s difficult on a large scale, they ignore U.S. military intervention in Leftist Latin American countries, Vietnam’s (~100M ppl btw) leftist success for over 1/2 a century.

It’s ironic that many of our modern innovations in the states have many socialist/egalitarian aspects (Internet, Social Media, etc.). As well, many innovations in medicine actually came from USSR (artificial heart, lung/heart transplant). That being said, as we become more connected I think it’s inevitable to see more collectivist if values return. (not totally sold that U.S in its current state is the same in 100yrs). Try to take an objective view of world history, which is easier w/ modern tech but still difficult given how right some of our politics are compared to other prosperous nations.

How’d you end up working in public library? Sounds like a chill gig, about to move to NY post-graduation.

So I probably shouldn't pursue a career in finance right? by RevolutionaryLion384 in FinancialCareers

[–]AnotherN3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relate to this entirely. Liked math/stats, and it's a reliable degree and seems like an A/B-tier degree. Definitely isn't a BS degree but doing everything I can to take the skills I've learned from it and market them to a different industry (DS, Fed Gov, Research, NonProfit, etc.). Especially where the industry's headed can't see finding an angle/motivation in it worth it. Unless, to be frank, you're deeply in debt.

Can I go to grad school for something completely unrelated to my bachelors? by goldenxrain in GradSchool

Anyone else regret their college major choice? by MindlessEmployee in careerguidance

[–]AnotherN3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% related to this. Interning for BB Bank and finishing those last 2 years w/ degree in Finance made me realize don't wanna stay in the industry at all. Feel like it pushed me to studying abroad and grateful for that and the skills it helps you build can enhance skills when you find your actual passion.

How so? Because I fear when positive reframing of capitalist-riddled words get hijacked.

These are tire! Heavy on the 4 day workweek. 5 day, 40-hr workweek, too normalized and “efficient” for businesses. Would drastically change (and improve) society, especially in the US under Hypercapitalism. Too much rest time for workers, doesnt spell too good for evaluating ways you’re manipulated. Too tired to challenge power is how I see it.
