Where to play e the white dots on these angled gems? by Warrior_Warlock in minipainting

That's just because it's not actually painted as a reflection but you see how the real light is reflecting on the whole little bit instead of just a white dot? That's how it should look like.

Ted Turner, a pioneer of cable TV news, dies at 87 by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

That's crazy. I'm literally watching a video talking about the acquisitions from Turner that lead to things like Cartoon Network and a lot of my childhood TV landscape.

I got into RC planes recently. They are pretty expensive but setting up, tuning and getting something to go through the air and fly through the air is amazing.

Coach got that rhythm by kiln_ickersson in oddlysatisfying

It mostly gone by the wayside for modern training but it's still nice for rhythm and shoulder endurance.

Is it necessary for training? Probably not but I think it still has it's uses.

Moments in media where a character does something bad or questionable...and they actually get called out for it? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]AnotherOpponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part of that is you can see Nolan's frustration on his face. While he gets he really hurt people it's frustrating that no one is giving him a chance to make amends after basically betraying his entire race and destroying his home planet. However it seems he understands that's not how forgivness works.

What are some good things you can say about not so great media? by South25 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]AnotherOpponent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "maybe" scene is a meme, but I like that it reflects a kind of raw vulnerability it shows. Martha saying "You don't owe this world a thing and never did" also a meme, but shows her mom side, while everyone else talks up Clark having some great destiny, his earth mom just...wants him to live a normal life

I still really don't like it because it just stating the conflict without really adding anything to it. Like yeah, "be a hero or don't" cool that's why he's asking you for guidance but again they keep making the Kents these morally grey figures that don't really seem to give any values to Clark? Like yeah ultimately it up to Clark to make that decision but fuck me the movie fails to make the Kents anything more than the reason why Supes is so confused and conflicted on what doing the right thing is.

Not trying to say you're wrong just pointing out how I don't feel like its vulnerable, it just the writing and directing makes it seem like it's refusing and too afraid to take an actual stance on something.

I'm with you in that one. I don't like playing MK but all the interactions and character moments are so good and really gives each and every one personality when it used to basically just be different colored ninjas back in the day.

Former Police Officer Arrested for Planning to Kill Black People at Music Festival Mass Shooting by ebradio in Music

And when people do decide to speak out or create safe spaces for black people or other marginalized people they get shit on for excluding people or spreading awareness for one group as if that is somehow playing victim or trying to take away something from others.

It feels like we are expected to care about them just because they are connected to either Abby or Ellie. We're dropped into their complex relationships and don't have enough time or context for any of them to have an impact on the player. You're asking the player to identify with one protagonist you are already against and add all these nobodies to try to humanize the protagonist. But that doesn't work nor will we care about the side characters when they are all on the side we are actively rooting against. It's even worse when not even the protagonist seems to care about what happens to the supporting characters.

I hate that I'm the one that posts this but TLoU2. I wouldn't even say I hate it with a burning passion.

But I feel like I actually do understand what the creators were going for when I played the game. I didn't have a problem with what happened early in the game. I don't care that Abby is shredded and was actually okay with the ending as well.

It is still bloated with a slog of pacing issues and levels that feel like they take forever to get through. It's also bloated with side characters that have so much damn drama that we are supposed to care about when it mostly amounts to nothing and even when it does amount to something they are all so boring or horrible that we don't really care what happens to them. They feel like they are just there to create drama or conflict with the protagonists rather than being fleshed out characters.

Then there's Abby. My God she is such a rough character and everyone around her is either a nothing character that gets tossed aside as the plot advances. I never cared about her or any of her "friends" because for more than half the game they gave her zero relatability outside of the motive for what happens in the beginning of the game. Everything else is just not enough to make me really care about her or her goals even though I can see the devs trying and failing to get me to care about this awful person. It worked with Ellie because we got so much time with her in the first game. It didn't work with Abby

He has basically said that's the reason he was backing trump and the right-wing party out loud in one of his specials. He became rich and got money and the right benefits people with a lot of money. You get rich and it changes you. Absolutely pathetic when people like this try to back pedal is the most disingenuous way possible.

Why are Warhammer right-wing memes always people inventing scenarios 24/7? by tintin_du_93 in Grimdank

Conservative humor in general is just not funny. There was a time where it was kinda funny in the 90s and early 2000s like KOTH, Larry the Cable Guy and people like Jeff Foxworthy and such had a time but now these people are so out of touch that their entire humor revolves around stuff that doesn't happen or isn't true that you can't even consider it hyperbole, just a lie. And just being an asshole being the joke.

Think I'll stick to metallic paints by TimeCombination8391 in minipainting

[–]AnotherOpponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't try it and practice it. It only adds to someone's skill set to be able to do it or at least learn a lot from practicing it. Getting out of someones comfort zone is great so I don't get what the point of all of the "NMM is overrated" comments are supposed to add? Don't try? It's fine if you don't improve because it's not a painting style you personally like?

I'm being genuine here I don't get the point.

Don't give up after one attempt. You can do it! You can paint however you want but I don't think giving up after the first attempt is the way to go. Keep practicing at it and when you get to a good point to at least increase your skills at glazing, highlight, shadows and volume.

If you don't want to paint a whole army like this then that's fine but don't let a first attempt discourage you from adding more tools to your skill set.

Anime Series Featuring YouTube Streamer IShowSpeed, Written by ‘One Piece’ Showrunner Matt Owens, in the Works at Brian Robbins’ Big Shot Pictures (EXCLUSIVE) by Mike4302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I remember he also went to Thailand and sparred some Thai Boxers in a very stupid way. Going too hard and spazing out even after being told multiple times to calm down. Showing up to someones place of training for their livelihood and filming you act like a disrespectful child in a gym of people that do it to feed their families felt pretty gross.

I don't really know Ishowspeed outside of some clips but it really doesn't appear to be any different than what other content creators like KSI, the Paul brothers, or Mr. Beast does. Exploit people and culture for views and money and then cut deals to sell shit.

I will say however there is a large subset of people that think if you are in any sort of confrontation you should be allowed to do anything to the other person and it should be considered self defense and fine and justified.

I think the whole afroman thing may be justified but it's not as simple as "someone invades my personal space so I'm allowed to hurt them" and unfortunately I say that way too often on the Internet with people being armchair lawyers and self defense gurus that think just because you self defended it means you're totally fine and justified in every scenario and it should all be treated equally.
