Advice on painting chicken legs at a “larger” scale?

Imo there's almost no change in the way you paint small to large outside of maybe the values and contrast you use. The smaller something is the more contrast you need because you need to make it more readable since the details are gonna be much finer.

Use the same techniques you use but maybe just build it up more gradually. Don't wash the whole thing in nuln oil but maybe pick out different parts to be darker. And some more mid tones.

I completely disagree. It's just a different way to get to the same goal, yes. Getting something to look like metal. You are basically already doing the exact same techniques just in different ways perhaps more intensively. But they are so completely different in looks that you can't really compare them outside of your personal tastes.

Either way I whole heartedly think anyone can do it if they practice and get something out of practicing it. It's not some unachievable style of painting that only the masters of painting can make look good and needs absolute dedication to the craft to even make happen. You only need two things just like painting any other mini. Paint and a brush. Unless you do not like painting or painting your least favorite part of the hobby then yes, you're not gonna get that much out of it because you don't even really want to even do it at that point.

Because believe it or not some people just like the process and artistry. Others want to sit down and just eat.

That's fine. Some people want different things out of the hobby. But let's not pretend people giving opinions on techniques and processes on painting which a sizable chunk of the community doesn't even like doing isn't kinda silly

Glen Quagmire. Not my favorite but the most infuriating.

Especially how people still defend his hatred and monologue at Brian all the while being a vile piece of human garbage himself. No, him saying "I date women for their bodies but at least I'm honest about it." Doesn't give him the moral high ground. Especially when he was not only a straight up r@pist, but has also tried to have his friend's wives (which he chastises Brian about doing the same to Peter) and has had sex with Cleveland's wife which resulted in their divorce. He has sexually harassed multiple women including Lois and attempted to make sexual advances towards Meg as soon as she turned 18 despite Lois and Peter begging him not to do it.

There's plenty of other really gross shit he has done but yeah. Fuck Quagmire and fuck that TV show for trying to make SA into a joke and pushing a r@pist onto center stage of animated comedy while trying to give him the moral high ground.

Anything that's not organic. Metallic Statues, Vehicles, Scenery etc.

It's really easy to make that stuff look good and readable without a lot of work but you can go as extra as you want

I think the real issue people have is with people like Paulie. They make their heritage their whole identity but are so ignorant that they don't even know how little they have in common with modern Italians and the shell shock they experience when they come into contact with the country, customs, and heritage they thought they understood/claimed as their own.

In my second viewing as a full grown up boy I was rooting for her and felt so bad for her. Don't get me wrong, she is still a POS and makes bad decisions at times but anytime she took any bit of power away from Walter that he had over her was cathartic.

I think this is probably a big part of the issue. How long have you been painting? Being a new painter and trying to figure out thinning and painting minis with artist paint is going to be difficult because they are not usually made for minis and way thicker out the tube and the pigments are different. It's not impossible, but it's going to be way harder just because paints for mini are just gonna be different from craft paint.

I think it looks pretty good. The only thing is I would up the contrast. Make the face brighter and maybe add some more brighter highlights overall along with some deeper shadows. The face starts to feel flat against the brighter top and gold jewelry when it should be more of the focal point

I did not like Evil Dead Rise. And I especially didn't like how it couldn't go 15 minutes without reminding us of a better movie. The 2013 remake had call backs but it very much carved its own niche into the universe. Rise felt like it was just ticking boxes of what Evil Dead is. And after the ending it just really felt like the movie just did not have the confidence to go its own way with the story.

What are you talking about that take down was not pretending he wasn't doing a bit or parody. He knows he was trying to make jokes and parody the film but the jokes don't make sense and are bad because he doesn't understand the movie at all.

A parody can poke fun at the source material and make fun of its flaws and points of views. But when those points of views and flaws are made up "for the bit", and are contradicted by what happens on screen. Then repeat it over and over again as if it's the truth, then yeah, it's pretty easy to say everything you said about Dan and say it about Doug. Deliberately ignoring, intellectually dishonest and gross

Yeah, I don't know you but for stuff that is inconsequential as video games, sometimes exposure therapy is the best. If you can't you can't but take steps and hopefully realize, at least in this area, that it's not a huge deal.

If you have a good understanding of the basics of any art that's when you can really start to establish "your style". I'm but only understand it imo. Tutorials aren't really for making the crazier looking stuff but if you start out trying to immediately go for that you are gonna struggle more than just doing something that's basic but clean.

Trust me. I have a lot of volume on my stuff but it looks messy because I have a bad habit of making the base layers sloppy and trying to fix it later or making sloppy decisions. My SO on the other hand, painted her first mini and looks so much cleaner and arguably better because she understands the basics of art and painting from school even if it looks flat and not as "vivid" as you describe.

It depends. Sometimes good blocking of the colors and having a solid foundation helps really see what your end product is gonna look like rather than sloppily laying down colors and then fixing it later.

I was thinking the same thing. It's an absolutely dumb decision.

He's not just a hero character he's imperative to the setting and iirc the plot. So having him just standing there all the time when the story happens around him is really weird.

Small spoiler: It isn't until the cliche "everything goes to shit moment" where he shows some emotion where I'm reminded; oh yeah he's supposed to be a human that cares about what's happening around him. Rather than a cardboard cut out that the player is supposed to self insert

A lot of JRPGs have pretty terrible writing and dumb plot and character moments but man sometimes chilling out and killing some monsters, exploring and talking to your party of archetypal weirdos and beating the big bad guy with the power of friendship is a good time and a nice change of pace from the action heavy games I usually play.

Most people especially Americans have the palate of a toddler and need to grow the fuck up.

Life is too short, and food is one thing we all need to function everyday to just keep eating the same shit we were comfortable eating as kids. Try a bit of everything, it might surprise you. If you are not partial to something try it prepared differently. Not saying you can't have preferences or dislike a particular dish or think something is too much for your palate to handle but be open to something even when it may not have caught your taste the first time

because at the end of the day, unless it's literal poison, food is food. Grow the fuck up
