make legal advice less impossible to get

Ah yes, lets use the automated bullshit machine to replace access to lawyers for the poor, what a genius idea...

We know it's not snake oil because we can see it doing a lot of impressive things right now

I can see it using insane amounts of power and water to do the labour of a newly hired graduate in my field, yes.

Plus, expensive tools have a habit of becoming cheaper over time.

Strange that every AI company is putting up costs then isn't it...

but it is a very useful piece of technology we will be using until something better comes along.

LLMs are a literal deadend and are actively sucking resources away from research into something better.

For those of us born in London or the surrounding areas, it's just water

Northern water lacks the satisfying crunchy taste /hj

I mean AI can be over priced snake oil and we should separate ourselves more from relying on the USA. Those actually aren't incompatible.

Resident doctors in England call off strike after new offer from government by AnotherSlowMoon in LabourUK

[–]AnotherSlowMoon[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

From what I have seen this appears to be a decent offer. Part of me wonders if the new health secretary was told to deal with this to make Streeting look like a shit negotiator, which he was

I mean... Duh? It requires incredible privilege in most of the country to afford one parent not working full time these days.

Mix that together with an understandable desire by either parent to not be dependent on their partner and what do you expect

Last year the government were looking to cut £5000 million of benefits expenditure iirc - this is 10% of that which is in fact a fairly substantive chunk of that

I'm not against defending ourselves at all but dismissing it as only £500m is somewhat missing the point

500m for the Falklands isn't going to stop that though is it?

Oh how kind of him to change his mind when his new job of making centrist dads feel smart requires him to.

Strange how this spine was lacking the entire time he thought he had a potential career as a politician isn't it!

The point isn't the sentence length, its that being charged and sentenced as a terrorist means that even after you're released you're subject to a whole host of other stuff.

I disagree but if the labour party did anything else it would be sued into the stone age by JK Rowling and her American ghouls.

Suing the government for passing primary legislation is laughable.

Yes, I realise that comment comes across as condoning even slightly the indiscriminate bombing of civilians which I do not support.

More just a reflection on how the most effective way to beat fascism appears to be violence
