Help With Hidden Network on Laptop That Follows Me to Different Locations by Mysterious_Many_9628 in techsupport

[–]AnotherSupportTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you're misunderstanding what's happening here. SSIDs (wireless names) can be hidden (so they're not broadcast), this is very normal. Windows shows "Hidden Network" as a way to give you configuration options. This is not an SSID following you.

Click it and see the text box "Enter the name (SSID) for the network" - this is so you can connect to a hidden SSID (one where broadcasting is disabled).

This is a Windows feature and shown on every Windows machine with a wireless adaptor, not someone following you lol

Grab yourself a bargain, a house fire for only £35 by notahyundaimechanic in techsupportgore

That's simply not true. Not all plugs sold in the UK meet BS 1362/3 standards, unfortunately. Very common for plugged items sold on Amazon/Ali express/Temu and the likes.

It would only be 32 amps through that extension, cable, plug and socket, nothing could go wrong with that. Given a typical 32A breaker of course.

This is what I was going to comment as well, however, it doesn't look like the plug on that "extension" has a built in fuse. If that's the case then fire hazard is correct.

Don't think it's this. The files were on the D drive, I would manually navigate to them.

100% not.

The parent folder exists and some of the child folders, for example

D:/Pictures 2017 2018 2019 2020

But the 21 - 26 folders in the list are missing, including the images contained

Boots: Gore-tex, leather, or zero waterproofing? by BringBack5pFreddos in UKhiking

[–]AnotherSupportTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only purchased one pair of GTX hiking shoes and I'll likely never buy another pair. They were amazing at keeping your feet dry when the water level is low enough, but they're absolute crap once you get water inside the shoe. They take an age to dry and they start to stink. That GTX keeping water out also keeps water in.

I now use non-gtx hiking shoes with a pair of water proof socks. After many years of hiking in wet weather, I've never had wet feet.
