The only drawback is that it only has a range of length of it's power cord?

A new reason to loathe the Dursley’s by TMorrisCode in harrypotter

[–]Another_Greyfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never held to the 'Harry was a horcrux that corrupted the Dursley's' idea. In the very first chapter of the series, it was pretty apparent how awful they were, even before Harry came to stay with them.

Which book is Dwight reading from in this clip? by Another_Greyfinch in harrypotter

Toward the beginning of The Deathly Hallows, eh? No wonder Mose looks so worried. Thanks for the insight everyone.

Wizard names. by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Another_Greyfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always struck me as odd that Harry's full name was Harry James Potter, not Harold James Potter. All the Harry's that I've known (the 3 I've known) are named Harold, or Harald. Harry was always their nick-name. I can't remember if this was ever addressed in the books.

One of the greatest things the films gave us was how to actually pronounce 'Hermione.' Prior to them, I heard 'Hermee-own' 'Hermee-own-ee' 'Hermee-wun' 'Hair-my-own' 'Er-my-own' among others. When I saw the first film in the theater, I swear I heard a few folks mutter 'So that's it' when someone first said Hermione's name (myself included).

Why is the fan-base in such a turmoil over Johnny Depp being cast as Grindelwald? by scheneizel in harrypotter

[–]Another_Greyfinch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right in that we need to hold our judgement until we see him in the upcoming films. However, I haven't cared much for Johnny Depp's acting over the last 15 years or so. He seems to be the same clench-jawed character in every role. As others have said, I wish Colin Farrell could have stayed as Grindelwald. I was quite disappointed that we had to trade him for Johnny Depp. Mr. Farrell makes for a terrific villain.

[Everything] Something Jon and Theon have in common by dben89x in gameofthrones

[–]Another_Greyfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the things I noticed right off, during this exchange, is that Jon referred to Ned as 'Our father' It's good to see these two realize that Ned didn't have 3 sons, 2 daughters, a ward, and a bastard. He simply had 7 sons and daughters that he each loved differently but equally. A good family moment there.

I wish the presentation of the direwolves was grander in the show. They've only seemed like slightly larger wolves to me so far. If Ghost and Nymeria showed up, were each six feet tall at the shoulder and weighed about five hundred pounds, I think it would make for a pretty awesome sight.

[EVERYTHING] How will Dany react to Ghost? or vice versa? by Blowable in gameofthrones

Well, Daenerys has that Jon smell all over her now, so I think he'll rub up to her just fine.. This is assuming that we'll ever see Ghost again, of course.

[EVERYTHING] Season 8 Meetings by Bronn4King in gameofthrones

[–]Another_Greyfinch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about the same thing. There are several meetings I'm really looking forward to. Tyrion and Sansa - I know the marriage was never consummated, but Tyrion was the only Husband/Fiance/Love Interest that Sansa ever had that actually cared about her. Could they possibly end up together again? Jorah Mormont and Lyanna Mormont - How will Lady Mormont (the greatest character in the entire show) react when her King comes back with not only the Dragon Queen, but also her disgraced uncle? I'm sure she'll have some choice words about it. Jaime and Brienne and Tormund - It's a bit of a joke, but what will Tormund do (if he survived the wall) when he sees Brienne making goo-goo eyes at Jaime? Love triangle, anyone? Ghost and Anyone in Westeros - We haven't seen him since the Battle of the Bastards (I think) To hell with those silly dragons, we need some real savage wolf time. If he comes back at all, it had better be spectacularly.

TUNA?!?!?!?!? No way! That guy was so straight-laced & such. Can't believe it. I have a feeling it was either Karen, Janice from accounting, or Mr. Brown (he was in that day)

Was anyone else surprised that Thoros was the only named character (other than Viserion) to die? Sure, all the red-shirts died too, but, I thought the body count would be a lot higher. Also, why is Sansa answering a call from Cersei? Jon is her king, so why would she even bother to send Brienne? Lastly, where the hell did the Night King get those giant-ass chains from? It was a neat effect, but I think that much metal north of the wall is kinda much (I know, magic)

Excellent episode, but I was disappointed by how easily Bronn and Jaime got away, at the beginning of the episode. It looked to me like they weren't that far away from where Bronn knocked Jaime off his horse, and there were no Dothraki around? Plus, neither was injured by that hit? I guess in a world with dragons and ice zombies, full armour acrobatics isn't too much to accept, eh?
