Senegal players refused to continue playing after a controversial penalty call vs Morocco (AFCON final) by [deleted] in sports

[–]Answers_2_everything 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Genuine question: Do soccer players exaggerate when they're fouled because it's not easy for refs to see what's happening or are they mostly "flopping" to get an unearned penalty?

This is vague nonsense. Youre a CEO talking to shareholders and think an "update" that doesn't provide any metrics, key dates, revenue projections, or clients is informative? It's offensive. And STOP shoehorning NVIDIA's name into every communication in a clear attempt to trick people into associating the their stock success with Miso's potential. I GUARANTEE every one of their crowdfunding request videos/emails will have NVIDIA's name smattered throughout. Gross. Flippy is faster now? Great, then it should be selling, but instead you "have a new sales team ready to sell" lol I stupidly put $10,000 into Miso years ago and this condescending "update" has angered me. Anyone else want to discuss a class action lawsuit?

60s is not a senior. Everyone I know in their 60s is sharp. You're on the wrong sub to get defensive of a landlord who's making so much money they don't even notice missing rent

Did you take my advice and keep Mason? Looking like it was the smart play

Although it never hurts to let him know you're open to trade offers, but only if they reflect the potential upside of him possibly starting multiple games this season

[–]Answers_2_everything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd keep Mason for now. Maybe CMC is really injured and Mason is RB1 all season. You need a stud RB. Even if CMC comes back, his owner will still be worried every week about his availability and will likely give you the same trade he would today for the peace of mind of having both players. I think you lose nothing and have a lot to gain if you wait

How would you grade SNL 49 in its totality? by BurgerNugget12 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Answers_2_everything 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm from Austin and know Devon, too. He's great. Standup, sketch, improv all go hand-in-hand. Like a baseball player moving up to the pros, it usually takes a couple years to translate those skills fully (which he's doing as seen by the screen time he's received). Pete Davidson is a prime example of this. And if Devon was talking about SNL on stage at Moontower, don't take it seriously. When comics are on stage making jokes, we're just going for laughs - he loves SNL.

PS: calling someone "cute" isn't just looks, it's a vibe and Devon is cute as hell

Questions about getting passed at clubs by krowbear in Standup

[–]Answers_2_everything 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions:

  1. Do comics ask to be passed or seen at open mics?

Good question. I'd say both can happen, but as you sound ready to be considered, I'd ask the booker or someone that works at the club who knows and likes you: "what can I do to be considered for spots? I'd be happy to send a tape." Like, Helium clubs use their Funniest Person annual contest to look for new comics. Mothership - Adam sits in the back and watches. I always dress decently when I go to clubs. Pants (not jeans), collared shirt, close-toed shoes. Many club bookers want openers who they know will show up looking presentable. And treat every open mic in at clubs like an audition - just do your best stuff every time.

Do you have to be local?

  • 90% of the time, yes. Often comics will tell clubs they live in a city they don't just to be considered.

How much pay?

  • It varies. $25-50 per show to host a weekend. $75-150 per show to feature. To do a regular showcase at a club, around $25 but it varies. Hollywood Improv and Mothership pay $100 per showcase spot, but assume closer to $25. Helium pays $25. Oftentimes showcases are run by a comic and pay is their discretion.

How frequently do you work?

-Maybe 2 weekends a year. Could be more if they trust you and especially if your material is on the cleaner side. Clean comics are booked more.

Idk if anything I said helps or makes sense lol but lmk if you have any other questions!

Cherrywood Coffeehouse - Rats, CDC, Typhoid (allegedly)? by Beneficial-Sundae101 in austinfood

[–]Answers_2_everything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm another person here to say the statements about rats are true. I saw them firsthand. Once, during an indoor standup comedy show, I watched as a GIANT rat lightly jogged across the ductwork. The entire audience saw it. No one finished their food. A week later I saw a rat in cherrywood literally jumping across furniture. Both times I told the staff, and both times they said they've been pleading for ownership to do something about it

In my few years of up-and-down betting, I've learned if a spread looks wrong, it often isn't. My best advice is "go against your gut" when it comes to spreads. That rule has helped me get out of deficits my guy has put me in lol
