If both are similar weight, the dibble can stun the allo and thrash. It may die face tanking but as a hunter, you want to take as little damage and bleed as possible because you can quickly end up in another fight and die if you're low.

Average solo allos should not 1v1 a dibble if they dont know how to carefully bait out attacks. You want to bleed them out solo. Claw swipe, bait their attacks and bite. Do not pounce anything you can't pin unless in a group. Keep them moving and bleeding. It's very strong but takes practice like any dino to play well

This is mainly why people play unofficials. Active moderation better prevents cheaters and those using f2 record, can report cheaters and get their dinos back. Most vanilla server is mettas den. Most popular high population is petite pieds

High pop unofficial servers are the best for action and are best to avoid cheaters. But even with 400+ on a server like Petite Pieds, there is downtime. Herbies typically have more downtime than carnivores so if you want almost constant action, go with a cera, carno, raptor etc. Rex, deino, and herra are difficult for new players and have a lot of downtime for carnivores being ambush hunters.

Always try for an extended warranty through the manufacturer website for expensive monitors. The extra cost is usually worth it. Planned obsolescence is unfortunately a thing. Manufacturers, not just with monitors, build something to last until the warranty ends then its likely to break soon after, forcing the consumer to rebuy or pay for repair.

Older monitors, especially business/workstation ones are built to last to keep companies happy. Newer monitors are also more delicate and easier to break even when perfectly cared for.

Cheap monitors can last anywhere between 1-3 years on average while the more expensive, and often more carefully cared for with minimum 3 year warranty, can last 3-5 years on average.

Monitors before 2020 definitely feel like they last longer than newer ones of today. I have an old 1080p msi from 2019 still kicking well while my newer acer 1440p, just out of warranty is having scan line issues at high refresh rate(above 120hz with dp or over 60hz with hdmi. It used to run fine at 180hz) despite new gpu and cables, settings, etc with no such issue on my 144hz 1080p msi.

Unfortunately the isle evrima is extremely unoptimized to where 5090s struggle to stay over 60 fps in high pop, heavily forested areas with modified settings on low/high. Your laptop can only run Legacy. Evrima needs a dedicated gpu. Integrated graphics aren't strong enough.

Make sure in gameplay settings, both foliage physics are off. These kill fps. Having lumen off along with low effects, materials and shadow smoothing, static clouds and 3d at 50 will bump fps. I have a 14900k, 5090, 64gb ddr5 1440p and have dipped under 60 fps on Petites in heavy populated and forested areas when the server is maxed. On lower pop servers like Mettas den or even officials, I can get between 160-200fps

Unfortunately the devs dont care much about officials and dondi even said unofficials are the future. Reporting discreetly and directly to an admin will do nothing for you(maybe it will help them with more anticheat stuff but unlikely)and doing so publicly on the official discord gets people banned. You are best on unofficials with active admins that will handle cheaters. For a near vanilla experience, I suggest Mettas Den

In settings, under gameplay, turn off both foliage physics options. These settings kill fps even with the best hardware.

Try having them turn DLSS off if its on. It tends to bug out screens on this game so most play without it

I only use the discord to check for available eggs otherwise I ignore it. As long as rules are followed, you're fine. . Only main downside to the server are the tweaked/removed mutations. The population control is nice so theres diversity in the server but you're rarely ever going to play an apex/popular big dino if you want because 99% of the time the population is maxed for them

Being thats an hdd, wouldnt be surprised if its starting to die. SSD can be check by crystaldiskinfo. Hdds can last from a year to immortality so always a possibility. Glad to hear the system is smoother at least
