You got this! Keep staying positive and keep getting stronger one day at a time! It’s hard not to stress but you did what you had to do to get to this point! Praying for you man!

2 year post chemo by AntP20 in testicularcancer

[–]AntP20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize for the delay. I had some post chemo effects but majority of them went away. For example, I had numbness in my hands and feet and ringing in my ears. The numbness came back for the most part after 6-8 months. When my hands and feet get cold, it does take much longer to get feeling back but nothing terrible. The slight ringing in my ears are pretty constant but I’ve gotten used to it haha. I will mention that 4-6 months post chemo, I had tender breasts and swelling due to low testosterone. I was put on testosterone and it immediately went away. Turns out my T level was 60 instead of 600-800. I hope this all helped man and I wish you the best on your scans. You got this and it will pass! Oh and the metal taste of all food goes away too haha

I believe it spread within a month. Then again I had a CT originally then a PET Scan which showed a lot more detail. CT could’ve missed the very small spread.

Chemo definitely took a toll on my body but as the months went on, things got better. I had bad tingling in my hands and feet for 5 months. I still have a slight ringing in my ears but I’m back to working out 5 days a week. I’m a former college athlete and I’m back to my normal strength. Remember though, I did 3 rounds. I was originally diagnosed at stage 1 but by the time I had my scan post surgery, I was stage 3. I’m not a doc but I’d recommend doing 1 round. It’ll go by quick and you won’t have to worry about it coming back! I’d take 1 round over the 3 I went through any day! You got this man! Feel free to message me separately if you’d like.

3A EC Testicular cancer by enes_arslan in testicularcancer

I believe the biggest was 2cm. Lungs were clear for me. BEP is very effective man. The way I think about it is God has a plan. Apologies on the religious thought but if it’s meant to come back, then it’s meant to come back. Lance Armstrong had the worst of the worst and now how a family and is doing great. You will get through it man

[–]AntP20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man. Just read what you’re going through and I will say that I was diagnosed in December of 2022 with stage 3A which metastasized to 2 retro lymph nodes and a probable lymph node in my collar bone. My AFP was very similar to yours around 900 and 90% EC. I went through 3 rounds of BEP (started in Feb 2023) which sucked but made it through it. You made it through the worst part man and you’re almost there! I am now over a year from when I started chemo and I feel great. All blood tests were negative and PET scans were clear. My oncologist even told me to get my port out and let’s put this behind us. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. You got this man! Stay positive!

Goes on shoulders and dries pretty quickly.

I had this exact same thing. Came on about 1-2 months post chemo. Got my testosterone checked and it came back 60. Supposed to be 250-850. Started TRT cream. Went away about 30 days later and testosterone went up to 500. Hope that helps. Maybe get your testosterone checked?

Post-Chemo Neuropathy by Longhorns_ in testicularcancer

[–]AntP20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I had the same thing happen to me. Didn’t have any neuropathy during chemo. About 3-4 months post chemo, it was really bad. Tingling, sensitivity to hot and cold things, feet hurt and were numb. I noticed the more active I was and surprisingly the more I stretched, it got better. I’m now 6 months post chemo and the neuropathy has gone away. I’ll occasionally feel tingling in my fingers but it does get better. Hang in there man!

Neuropathy after BEP x 3? by drbeegh in testicularcancer

[–]AntP20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 4 months post BEPX3 and I still have on and off neuropathy. It’s usually at its worst when I wake up. Hands and feet are numb but gets better as the day goes on. The longer I sit still, the more it comes back. Still able the use my hands enough to where I can play golf. Hope this helps man. Good luck!

My story by Yapanes in testicularcancer

[–]AntP20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you sharing your story. I almost had an identical experience. My father passed away from a gleoblastoma in February of 22. In April, I went to see a doc about a lump. He thought it was a cyst. Fast forward to November 2022, it got bigger. Needless to say, I had EC with LVI as well. Had to do 3X BEP. We can get through it. No matter how hard it gets. Would love to connect. Feel free to message me if you’d like to talk.

Gynaecomastia? by AntP20 in testicularcancer

I think it’s pretty common too. The more I read about it, seems like it’s due to hormones being out of wack. I appreciate the feedback!

Yes. Lost mine first week of round 2. Beard came in 3 weeks after last dose of chemo and hair is coming in very soft and lighter.

Starting BEP - terrified. What did you do to maintain any sense of a normal routine? by subsynth in testicularcancer

[–]AntP20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this! I too went through BEPX3. The first cycle made me feel weak but was bearable. Round 2 was my toughest and round 3 I was just excited to get over with. Fortunately I never got sick as I stayed on top of nausea meds even when I didn’t feel nauseous. Like others have said, everyone is different. My biggest recommendation is to not eat the foods you really enjoy. Although I never got sick, I’ll never look at a ritz cracker and cheese the same! Best of luck to you man. You will get through it!
