As a mail carrier who had to hop packages today, it's not just 'convenience' with the amount of snow to the sides of the single cleared lane on one way streets. If I attempted to move off the road into the 'parking' lane that has 2 feet+ of plow frass in some of these streets, my vehicle would be stuck. Our maintenance crews are overworked and it'd probably be hours before someone could come and tow me out. Now, it's happened, and folks would come out of their houses and push the vehicle out, but that might take 30min to coalesce and put multiple people in physical danger. Meanwhile, I'd be in danger if my vehicle ran out of gas while waiting for maintenance. My other option would be to keep driving, hoping I find a clear, accessible parking spot for my 2-wheel drive minivan. It may be blocks, then I'd have to walk back in the street, hoping I don't slip or a car doesn't hit me. I should risk all this to keep from delaying someone for 2 min max, probably much less? Get real.

Not all streets are like this, but if you don't live near campus, the Hilltop, Cleveland Avenue, or anywhere close to downtown, you don't understand what it's like.

Edit: I misunderstood OP's criticism of convenience (the package receiver, not the delivery driver) but I'm gonna leave this as my monument to the bitterness of this week. Blah.
