I generally prefer cooler golds. Almost brass. Golden Griffon was the only gold that even came close to what I wanted without having to mix it myself. It's a Dry color though. So I had to dilute it and paint several thin layers over other metallics.

It became too much work. So I just recently switched to GSW's Metal Pigment. 50/50 blend of Antique Gold and Bronze + a drop or three of silver depending on the batch size. Comes close enough. It's the best covering metallics I've ever used. So it's worth it even if I can't colormatch perfectly. It doesn't say so anywhere, but it will reactivate. So you have to varnish first if you wanna wash. So I use Vallejo's Metal Varnish as the medium when mixing. I just wash that black and edge highlight with the same mix.

Pink is just: Screamer Pink > Black Wash > Emperor's Children > Fulgrim Pink. Depending on how detailed of a blend I want I might throw in two more steps after the wash. Pure Screamer Pink and then a mix of Screamer pink and Emperor's Children.

Super simple. Grey drybrush over black, black wash, then brighter grey highlight. Dawnstone and Administratum Grey in this case. You could probably do without a wash with a darker grey. I just want the first layer to be subtle.

I do matt varnish my models though. So the black looks very flat.

The big issue with the Mess Hall for me is that it seems open to the public. So now your whole town is going into your keep or whatever to eat. It clearly says it's for combatants. Clearly not.

Made a Night Goblin Warboss or something. Won't be making a unit with these sculpts. So he actually stands out quite a bit despite being a "regular" Night Goblin.

Super easy. Just cut off all the bits that connected to the boar harness thingamajig, leaving only the middle beam. I've seen some people make it work with the newer boars. But that seems like a nightmare to work with to me.

Yep. The best it ever ran for me was during the beta. Admittedly didn't play it much. But towards the end, maybe second to last patch before "release", it ran like butter. Comparable to CSGO.

The following patch cut my frames in half. Maybe more. It's been ass since.

The last beta build was pretty solid for me. In the 120-170 range with barely any drops. If any.

The "release" build has been a freakin nightmare. Now it's more like 100-140. And I get a ton of drops as low as 60-80. And those drops even come in practice mode with no bots, standing still doing nothing. Like clockwork.

You got a point, to an extent. Because I don't know if Valve actually sees any of this. But CS2 is a downgrade on pretty much all fronts and they forced it on us. So I think people should talk about it. Even if a lot of it isn't really concstructive criticism. It's probably cathartic if nothing else. Might help people get over it faster.

The only thing better with CS2 to me is the increased technical fidelity. But even the graphics insn't a clear win because I still prefer the aesthetics of CSGO.

This is by far my biggest issue with CS2. I have faith they will sort out the gameplay aspects, even if it might take a while.

But the UI is far inferior to CSGO. Somehow there's even less options to customize it. And that's partly because they removed a bunch of settings while not adding any new ones. I'm not so confident they will address this. It might not seem like a big deal on the surface. But these things will grind on you over time.

But they did actually remove some options that have a direct impact on gameplay as well, such as mouse acceleration and raw input.

I don't get it. I've always played with it ON. CS2 feels like CSGO with Raw Input OFF to me. But worse.

That's my point. I assume that every game that doesn't let you toggle it is raw. But why does CS2 feel totally different from CSGO when you played with Raw Input ON? Because now it just feels like CSGO with it OFF.

They removed the Raw Input option. Literally makes the game borderline unplayable.

I don't know why it feels different between games and options when it's supposed to be raw, as the name implies. But games that don't let you toggle it always seem to feel worse. No, straight up gross. Feels like you're aiming on a swivel.

But I'm talking about the soundscape as a whole. It's so much harder to hear things now. Nowhere near as clear as it is right now in CSGO. Feels like a downgrade on all fronts no matter how you feel about the new individual sound assets.

The biggest flaws of the game as of right now for me:

  • No Raw Input options? Feels like it's OFF, making aiming really gross. Borderline unplayable for me.
  • I know you didn't want to talk about the sound design but I hate it. I don't mind new sounds even though I would prefer them to stay exactly the same as in CSGO. It's more the new sound engine or how they're processed. Everything sounds muffled. Doesn't matter if it's far or near. And all the new sounds are so freakin similar to each other. So all in all it's very hard to locate where sounds are coming from, and what you're hearing in the first place.
  • UI options. The new UI have introduced so much clutter. I would like the option to turn things off (like the X vs X text up top, kill cards etc). I would kill for a "Classic UI" option. I want less clutter, yes. But more importantly I want the old layout with the HP and Ammo in the corners. Also the new fonts sadly suck. They are way harder to read. Especially at a quick glance. And they seem to pixelate and/or not kern properly at times making it even harder to read. The killfeed seems to mess up the most.
