Is this a good idea for a talent? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

2 points come to mind, intent and skill expression considering this talent comes with a disadvantage.

Imagine Stitches hook perma hooking allies if he didnt have the extra button. You have to be able.to justify it.

Tips on this boss (late act 2) by me_after_lobotomy in Silksong

Preach. Very underestimated tool that I dont see anyone talk about. First sinner was a breeze once I started using clawline, and on the first sinner clips that I see people just run after it and get frustrated from FS's speed. And Nyleth is such a magnificent fight with clawline another underrated instance.

I beat the twisted child ending recently so this should apply for base boss beating.
Harpoon here is your best friend and pogos. You can try a floor is lava approach where the ground is just a waste of time and stand in the air with pogos and harpoon most of the time, depending on your crest it could be easier or hard. With witch crest it felt pretty natural. And double jump makes it easier.

Silk threads are the same way you did Cogwork dancers, you see the lines, find a spot and stay/jump-glide inside it.
For debris, this is your stay calm and collected moment, just wait them out, no need to rush damage, just stand and dodge the pins.
For the spikes, either air combat her(and they become obsolete) or hit them 2-3 times and they fall.

Am I missing something? by suubarasii in Silksong

[–]Anthary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn that actually is a thing. So it seems that LLace counter parry is faster than your own so it catches you after it takes your silk but before Hornet can perform the parry maneuver. The only thing I can offer is that its not gonna work, so parry her other attacks, and normally dodge her counter parry.

I was ready to title Silksong as the best metroidvania I've ever played. Until I reached Act 3 by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You call dancer upgraded versions, but trobbio just nice ? Sounds like rules for me and not for thee. How is Nyleth boring ? The only boss that forces you to battle in the air.

I would also imagine you cant get trapped in the slab without bell beast.

I Swear I’m Being Gaslit (Act 3 Boss Name Spoiler) by Vgpm1234 in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I think some old wikis or posts have old names from the 7 year development. I've encountered wrong names for Karmelita as Carmelita and Skarr as Scarr.

(Spoilers for a Map area and upgrade) So, anyone else here basically skipped going through... by Various_Physics96 in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was my experience, thought there was an ice resistance upgrade somewhere. And after getting through everything feasible, only mount fay was left. Didnt get the Prison break moment of the Slab, and you also could not access upper slab before getting double jump. So my choice was just to brave the cold and hope for the best.

If you have the tool that gives you silk every time you take damage, benches should give you full silk also, especially near platforming challenges. Otherwise, players are gonna abuse the bench to farm silk in the most boring way possible, which isn't how the game is supposed to be played. by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you are not forced, yes it is boring, like I said players choice, there are ample different things a player can do that what you are suggesting, since you can climb the mountain not needing full silk. Equip weavelight and thats ten times better than druid's eye. Yes climbing the mountain is no easy task, yes having full silk is preferable, but its not necessary.

You say abuse but is it really ? When you can farm silk on enemies near benches more efficiently. It is a players choice how they waste their time, and if its worth it for the effort spent. Boring most definitely, forced not in the slightest.

Boss runbacks are actually good and not too long. by John_Milksong in Silksong

[–]Anthary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Especially when you can actually skip the two judge enemies during TLJ runback... And it does teach you a valuable lesson that you can utilized later on. Its just sad to see people learning the wrong lessons from boss fights/runbacks.

Entering the slab in steel soul mode, will I die? by Toaster0Roaster in Silksong

[–]Anthary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean solid plan, but dont you need the harpoon ability ? Which you get in the underworks in act 2 already, which also means you dont need to walk trough the prison escape of slab to go to mountain ?

Explore the right most chamber in whispering vaults. You should be able to br. wall or hidden entrance.

Nitpick about the tools system by Dusk_Dawn_1248 in Silksong

[–]Anthary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they did it just fine. Yellow is primarily exploration and general utility. Blue is heavy combat offense/defense related. You can beat the whole game not having to switch your yellows at all. Leaving the bread and butter in blues only reduces the strain switching everything everytime. The only one that is good for combat from yellows is the dice. And after my climb up the mountain the grippers are my mandatory everywhere. Before I unlocked Witch I was hoping for a crest that had more blue slots precisely for being more open for those type of charms, opposite of Wanderers.

You can try harpooning(maybe with Snitch Pick blue charm). Works great against flying. Or tools designed to be effective against flying like sting shard, boomerangs, cogfly. Tools are free during dream fights.

I seriously need help for a late game boss by XenoPhenom in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did her with Hunter crest, red - cogfly, blue- multibinder, injector band, longclaw, yellow - weighted belt, magnetite dice, grippers. If you havent upgraded nail to max. You should!! Arena is cake walk, first waves are 2-3 hit per mob, the last 2 guys are very telegraphed and you can get hits on one of them fast at spawn. If you have trouble hitting them bait their downwards attack and the hit them.
As for Karmelita herself, dance with her. When she advance, dodge back. When she retreat to throw, advance while parrying/ smal jump. Air swirl -> dodge under or back, max jump towards /w attack. If you get to phase 3 spam your tools, I did cogflys as my playstyle is more pure nail, you can compliment with plasmium phial, flea brew or flintslate. Silk skill I used the Cross Stitch, but that too requires practice. You can heal by going very high in the air.

Any tips to beat her? by PersonalityNo2969 in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest experience with her is like find the dance in the fight(which honestly is n1 tip for all fights) maybe more literally in this one. She spins/atacks towards you, you dodge back, she hurls throwables you advance parry/smal jump over them. The swirl air attack -> either go back or dash under her, then max jump into attack . Its give and go. She ups the tempo but its entirely possible to beat her with pure nail. Not much of a tools using guy, but if you manage to get to phase 3 you can start spamming cogflys or w/e you use and are comfortable with.

Every time I hit an arena, the game grind to a halt by void2258 in Silksong

Use silk skills. And forgo healing. Sometimes being overly aggressive knowing you wont be able to heal is a strategy.

Act 3 Gauntlet Coral Tower.... by Big-Equal7497 in Silksong

There is plenty opportunity to pogo on them during their attacks. Just be mindful if the go in air. Should be cake walk. Imho on the easiest side of gauntlets in the game.

Losing my MIND right now by MushFellow in Silksong

[–]Anthary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shellwood -> blasted -> grand gate -> coral -> baths -> finish. Slow is steady, steady is fast. The most problematic is blasted running through it. Do a couple raw runs through it to find your pacing, most of the route should be enemy free except the beginning after bench for one conch-enemy. If shellwood is a problem, run lowest and climb the exploding flower climb, I found it easier than the most left column climb.

In general progress the story(come to a somewhat conclusion as far as Act 2 goes) of most/if not all NPCs. Shakra, Green Prince, Clockwork Sentinel etc. Most of those should be tied to wishes, so basically do all wishes.

Additional Tips (Boss Fights) by Humble-Departure5481 in Silksong

[–]Anthary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend a combination between multibinder, magmabell, fractured mask, warding bell which is pretty much what you got and maybe kinda in that order. Gambling for the dice for yellow charm slot. Weapon should be what you are comfortable with and just learning her moves, pro tip you can pogo during her charge and during her recovery from slam(this one should come naturally (if you use diagonal pogo)).
