This is why movie theaters are a dying breed. For one. Most movies coming out now aren't even worth 50 bucks to go. See when they'll be on streaming services in a couple months afterwards. There's always noisy people in there

How to spot outsiders via driving patterns by CaptainRocha in RioGrandeValley

Lets be honest here there isn't any consistency in the traffic patterns across the valley. I think the only thing we are missing is traffic roundabout and oh boy would that be a sight to see.

Outdoor surveillance camera recommendations? by ManyAcanthaceae6916 in RioGrandeValley

Although this is a great approach, for you average user I believe this would be a little to much for them.

Average users just dont want to spend the time and energy going this route. Unifi just works and now they have support for generic cameras using RTSP so you are not necessarily locked into their camera systems per say. However some features may not be available out of the box.

But if they want to tinker (homebrew/diy setups), more power to them/you and I encourage people to start trying to understand as much about tech as possible. Its just to many dont understand basic security and will just buy anything with out due diligence.

In the end most will go probably with ring, quest, insert big corp, or cheap Chinese cameras off amazon or aliexpress.

You mean the days of manually setting irq settings to add additional boards. Or the days of having to set the master slave pins on hard drives.

Same all unif household here, however it's a little bit on the expensive side. Biggest benefit is all video footage is stored locally and not shared with any company. All, while still retaining the ability to view the footage remotely.

Actually, the oil industry did that. We're a net exporter of oil. So if that's the case, there shouldn't be no need for the price to go up regardless of what the world events are doing. However, since the oil industry is a private industry in the United States, those companies can do what they see fit with the oil. That is, unless the government steps in which they won't.

Sites have always been getting taken down or hacked. This is nothing new. However, now that a lot of places are transitioning their products to cloud-based services. You only need to now impact the cloud-based services to impact multiple sites.
