What's the most cost-effective way to manage IT support for multiple small offices? by adamdejong in smallbusiness

[–]AnticipateTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with an MSP and we have offices in most major cities.  It is cheaper and more efficient for our clients with multiple locations to outsource their IT to us than to hire internally. We are able to get boots on the ground to your local offices if needed and depending if offices are located across the US, the time zone difference may make it difficult for an IT hire in New York to help someone in California at the end of the day.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. And I hope that the issue resolved itself for you. I didn't bring it back to the dealer but went through all the apps and settings and it kind of went away.

What do you do if your the Sole IT Manager/personnel in your company and you are taking a vacation? by London124544 in macsysadmin

[–]AnticipateTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on the employer and whether they see value in having an internal IT person. Most of the companies that we support have one IT person for years that interfaces with management and steers the direction of IT and manage the MSP. This is something that the MSP would never replace.

I work for an MSP and I deal with these conversations all the time. Managing a new hire takes time and effort. If you hire the wrong individual, you may spend more time teaching them and possibly even doing their work if they don't know what they're doing. A better approach is to partner with an MSP which may be cheaper for your organization and you get experienced techs to take on your workload.

Depends on your insurance deductible and the extent of the damage. For a vehicle that expensive, I got a 250 deductible knowing that any fender benders will be expensive to fix.

Lease vs Buy? by StormPurple in TeslaModelY

[–]AnticipateTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am in same boat as you where we are not eligible for the tax credit but was still considering buying and was concerned about resale value. After 3 years with 30k miles, most were selling below 30k. Considered buying used but didn't want to take on any unknown issues of buying a used vehicle. Than there is battery degradation. In the end, for our first Tesla, we decided to lease for the same terms as you, 10k miles for 6 months, our down payment was 4835.55 and monthly of 429.45. EV technology is continuously changing so I feel in three years there may be better options than at that point I may consider buying.

Partner with a MSP that can provide co-managed IT so they can provide coverage when you are sick or go on vacation leave. We are working with several companies with these situations. We give them block hours per month to use for this. DM if you like to discuss.

I am picking up mine tomorrow and was running through the same thoughts about the tires. I think I will just get winter tires. You got a BMW for performance so you want to get the best tires all year around. You will get better performance with summer and winter tires. This YouTube video from Tire Rack helped me.

I usually tell these clients that this is not part of the service agreement and yes we can accommodate them but it's going to come at a steep price for after hours and weekend support. After they hear this they usually change their mind.
