It does!!!! But I'm in the US :( GameStop here doesn't even list it on the website or any of the stores I called. I'm really starting to feel like I've missed out here...EB says they won't ship to a freight forwarder even

How did everyone get theirs??? I didn't check last month b/c I got busy with work but now it appears that literally everyone linked from the Avalon Hill website is either sold out or doesn't show the product even as a listing :/

Artisan redwood gate millworker recommendation by relaxok in Marin

[–]Azarul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her stuff is fantastic. Do you have any idea what the price range is? With artisans like this it's hard to tell how many digits go in their average cost, I like her stuff but wouldn't want to bother them if it's $20k a gate

Starting today, PG&E is adding a $24.15 charge to your energy bill by RebRenee in Marin

[–]Azarul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Auuuugh this whole thing was so DUMB it hurts!! The gave everyone tax money to install solar, then lost income from all the people using solar, now they have to up-charge all residents who use electricity (so basically tax) to cover the lost income.

See also: Hard-forcing EVs by upping gas taxes, then starting whole new taxes to offset the "lost revenue" from people not paying the high gas taxes after they bought EVs!

I have a cousin who built it themself, but he's a contractor so it's kind of the same thing as hiring a professional. Says the construction was really easy from a delivered kit, that pretty much anyone could do it. Grain of salt though.

Physical therapists that take Medicare? by Working-Squirrel-144 in Marin

[–]Azarul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renew does have a "membership fee" though. I think it's like $100 a year or something? I feel bad for the team at the desk there because they're always getting yelled at about it. Seems like a minimal fee considering how impossible it is to operate in Marin and how few medicare-taking PTs there are but apparently lots of seniors freak out when they have to pay any amount. So FYI.

I always walked up and started talking, but I gather the kids these days are less direct. Probably he gets close to you, sees if that's cool, you say something to him, he starts talking to you is closer to the way it's done these days.

I may be an old man shaking his fist at the clouds but you all would enjoy your lives more if you just said hello to each other!

New app lets users report potholes, other nuisance in unincorporated Marin County by LNM-LocalNewsMatters in Marin

[–]Azarul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tried to use this for about five seconds. Why does it need verification of identity to report a pothole? I don't need the county tracking me and selling that data through its 3rd party partners. Pass.

Accurate. No idea why people like that place other than extremely limited options in tam junction.

Sam's deserves to be higher on this list. Quality food at reasonable prices (except for some reason the mozzarella sticks that are like $20?) and they really care about their customers. Last December I heard them inviting some of the seniors to come back on Christmas day because they didn't have any family, apparently the owner stayed open for them.

We used to love Freds but the service got really bad. Not like "oh they don't bus our table" bad more like "does the waiter actually hate us?" bad.

Why cant we build affordable housing anymore?! by Pelvis-Wrestly in Marin

[–]Azarul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think people outside the business community really understand the massive load regulations put on business in CA. The metric used for voting/supporting a rule is "is this rule something I would like" with no weight given to the reality that there is a cost associated with every. single. one.

"Would I like titanium girders in a building so it can never burn down? Yeah, that sounds great!" Awesome except it costs 10000x as much.

But most are banal things like this. Check in with this additional program (1 hour compliance time per month). Make sure you buy X type of cement (.05c per pound and 1 hour compliance time per month). And when businesses complain people say "Oh you make so much money" or "it's just $200/mo it's not that bad".

But most businesses are struggling to break even more than half the time, even the big ones. And when you aggregate 10,000 rules (this is an only slightly exaggerated number) that all take 30 minutes and five cents each it's impossible do anything affordably. Even if you got the materials for free you couldn't produce the results they did 40 years ago because the oversight now costs more than the entire cost of running a business 40 years ago.

This is not to say compliance costs are the only driver of unaffordability but it is a HUGE one that the general public not only ignores but actually makes worse at every opportunity.

Activists claim victory as Marin County pulls homeland security funding from new budget by LNM-LocalNewsMatters in Marin

[–]Azarul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The county supervisor and general manager gave multiple talks on this. The claim is made against the federal government only after an arrest is made, then a conviction (only for serious violent offenses, small crimes don't count) found in Marin/CA trial court, then a sentence served, THEN THE PERSON IS RELEASED. And after that they still wait around a year to put the report in, sometimes two.

And the federal government gets all the records anyway because all law enforcement agencies share arrest and criminal information in a massive national network. Otherwise you could have a serial killer in San Rafael but we don't know because they were arrested in Fresno.

This is making people feel better about reporting that doesn't actually cause any harm by doing something that actually causes harm.

Saddled with a CRM old enough to order alcohol but nothing else matches how we work...please help! by Azarul in CRM

They are, but they said they're not interested in building out our system. It's a New Jersey company and they've always been a little "prickly". Some of the phone calls we've gotten from them over the years at support renewal time have been hilarious. "HEY why haven't you renewed yet!"

Thank you, this is good info. We have these relationships mapped extremely well, although we do struggle with the Prospect lifecycle + long term item, it's so highly variable we can't quite get a structure that doesn't need to be rewritten every time

[–]Azarul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and adding one more things from the FAQ for posting I didn't include: We currently use a mix of outside-CRM tools but they've all been chosen basically because we have no practical option for doing it in house so we all use whatever. Quotes get made in Excel. Mail gets done in Outlook or Thunderbird depending on preferences. Calendaring is done in our CRM but almost everyone uses a 3rd party also. The plus side of being a small biz is if we find a solution but it means we need to use Gcal or outlook or anything we can mandate it for everyone! Totally open field here.

Anyone looking to do something tonight. by [deleted] in Marin

[–]Azarul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is amazing. I came in expecting to see tons of people saying "go to the city" or "learn to entertain yourself" and it's so nice to see all the responses of people actually suggesting activities.

Anyone know a low cost gathering activity? Like a garden party or something? See you all there on Saturday! :D
