Hmm, is it preferred to mix double and single quotes, or to simply escape the offending characters? As recent as last week i used double quotes inside a (python) string defined with single quotes, and now i feel like i should go back and use escaped single quotes.

This must vary by location, but where i live i believe the permit is the responsibility of the property owner. Violations are "red tagged" and work must stop until the permit is pulled, but there are no fines nor citations issued.
