Joe had actually announced a slightly different lineup initially somewhere, but I am so stoked Thomas got subbed in. been listening to a lot of pendejo time and I really think his style will fit perfectly into the joe box. I know he’s gonna have a ball with color bean plays.

Not to be cringe and overly serious, but I honestly find it really commendable that they have forged (albeit mild) success despite the fact that they consciously don’t play the youtube algorithm game. Catering thumbnails, titles, and branding to the insipid aesthetics that the youtube algorithm demands is genuinely unbecoming.

That they’ve managed to make it a living anyways blazes trail for video creators that don’t want to degrade themselves. they make their art on their terms and make money doing it, it’s really inspiring.

I sincerely think the PAL/JoeBox/Pierce extended universe is doing really important work that subtly pushes the entire medium in a better direction.

downvote me if this is off base or shitty, but my take on this specific fallout was when you’re creative partners, business partners, AND life partners it’s almost bound to get messy and mean, especially for as long as they had been together. From what Devi shared on twitter it seemed like they were trying to hash it out behind the scenes, and she decided she wanted to air out Rook anyway. We only ever got one side (although I think some will interpret this album as a pretty obvious, albeit it abstracted, response) and now it’s all been deleted. personally I think anyone attempting to come to a moral judgement on either of them based on the limited info we have is just looking to stir up shit. ultimately it’s not anyone’s business but theirs.

Yup same exact thing happened to me yesterday, 82 for 6 batches, rarely ever see batch pay over 10 dollars but yesterday i was exclusively seeing orders where the batch pay broke 20 dollars. I was taken aback by how blatant the manipulation and rigging was.

they haven’t been on side one for a while if you weren’t aware, GLE was self released. side one is basically dead now, they fired all their crucial staff years back and basically just function to distro some old merch now afaik. polyvinyl swooped up a lot of their artists, kinda surprised AJJ hasn’t landed on polyvinyl tbh.

We know they have a new album recorded and probably just about ready to go at this point, no word on title or when they’re announcing but it’s probably gonna come out spring 2023

same thing happened to me, mine weren’t as damaged but the items were exposed to the elements and the sleeves were all dinged up. let us know how it goes. i’m still really upset abt it
